Season 5 of Love After Lockup transitioned into its “Life After Lockup”segment with the release of episode 41, titled Welcome Home?, on October 4. This segment highlights the post-prison lives of inmates and their relationships. In this episode, we see Tennie and Rob enjoying happy moments with their children. Tennie organized a welcome home party for Rob, inviting those who supported him during his incarceration, including his mother, Kate.

Upon her arrival, Kate sat down with Tennie and Rob, criticizing Rob for being distant and blaming his new family for the rift. Tennie didn’t take kindly to this and engaged in a heated exchange, questioning the basis of Kate’s accusations. What began as a verbal confrontation escalated into a physical fight.

Rob’s mom blames Love After Lockup star Tennie for Rob’s distance

Kate arrived late to her son’s welcome party on Love After Lockup and jokingly asked Tennie if she thought she would miss it. Tennie replied that neither she nor Rob had expected her to attend. When Kate met Tennie’s mom, they exchanged friendly greetings, and Kate complimented her hairstyle.

Rob expressed gratitude to Kate for attending since many guests had not shown up. He noted that it was essential for her to be there. However, during their conversation, Kate voiced her dissatisfaction with Rob’s behavior, feeling a distance between them and questioning how she had contributed to this situation.

Rob explained that he was dealing with mental challenges after spending 17 years in prison. He assured her of his love but mentioned he had newfound responsibilities since his return and referred to himself as a “grown man.”

In response, Kate insisted she would always support him, suggesting that Tennie might not do the same. This remark infuriated Tennie, who interrupted to ask Kate why she would say that. Kate defended her comment, but Tennie, feeling offended, announced her intention to get a drink. Meanwhile, Kate continued to question Rob about choosing another family over hers.

Feeling cornered, Tennie shouted at Kate, demanding to know her issue, as Rob tried to mediate between the two. Tennie then shoved Kate’s face back, prompting Kate to punch her in retaliation. Rob desperately yelled “stop”until he and his mom tumbled over, and the camera angles on Love After Lockup abruptly cut out.
