“That’d be fun” – Jack Della Maddalena proposes Kamaru Usman as alternate for UFC 305 in case Shavkat Rakhmonov is unavailable
If a potential fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov is not scheduled for UFC 305, Jack Della Maddalena is eager to take on former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
During his appearance on The Grin Reapers podcast, Maddalena shared his thoughts on the current state of the division and predicted that the upcoming rematch between Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards could determine the next welterweight champion. Despite this belief, Della Maddalena remains a top contender in the division and could potentially secure a title-eliminator match in the near future.
When questioned about contingency plans in case a potential match against third-ranked Rakhmonov falls through, Della Maddalena responded:
“I don’t know. Yeah, maybe [Kamaru] Usman. I don’t know. That’d be fun, fighting Usman.”
