The seventh season of Love is Blind made its debut on Netflix on October 2, 2024, featuring singles hailing from the Washington, D.C. area, all eager to explore romantic connections through this unique social experiment. Following the established format of earlier seasons, participants sought to forge emotional bonds without having seen each other.
Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis emerged as one of the couples who found a genuine connection, ultimately getting engaged during their journey on Love is Blind season 37. Their effective communication was highlighted as a crucial element in the success of their relationship. However, Ashley was left feeling let down when Tyler delayed revealing his history as a sperm donor.
Tyler, a 24-year-old account manager, disclosed that he had fathered three children through sperm donation, clarifying that he had done so to assist his best friend and her partner, and mentioned that he had yet to meet the kids.
On October 20, 2024, Tyler’s children’s mother, Bri Thomas, took to Instagram to present a five-part video disputing the claims made by the Love is Blind participant. She clarified that while their eldest son, Kyreaux, was indeed conceived through sperm donation, their twin daughters, Kali and Kamari, were conceived through “unplanned, natural intercourse.”
Bri emphasized that Tyler had played an active role in the lives of all three children and criticized the show’s contestant for neglecting to acknowledge them. She accused him of “lying on national television”regarding his involvement, stating that it caused emotional distress for her and their kids.
“That all hurts. I understand. This is for everyone’s entertainment. But this is our real lives. And, you know, it sucks. It really sucks,” she expressed.
Bri Thomas discusses Tyler’s involvement in their children’s lives
In her series of videos, Bri detailed how Tyler contributed to the conception of their oldest child, Kyreaux, explaining that they had originally agreed Tyler would not take on a paternal role. Following the departure of Bri’s ex-wife, she was forced to raise Kyreaux alone, at which point Tyler offered his support.
She recounted their serious conversation about the implications of Tyler stepping into a fatherly role, discussing his potential financial responsibilities and presence in Kyreaux’s life.
“We had a deep discussion about what that would mean for him to be stepping up as a father to Kyreaux and what it would look like as far as financial responsibility, helping out, being an active parent in his life, being present,” Bri explained.
Eventually, Bri accepted Tyler’s offer, and he became an essential part of their family. Their relationship intensified shortly before their son’s first birthday, culminating in the birth of their twin daughters.
Bri asserted that Tyler was involved throughout her pregnancies and during the twins’ delivery.
“He signed the birth certificate. He cut the umbilical cord. His mom and sister came to visit us in the hospital after the twins were born. Again, there has never been any confusion or additional context surrounding the twins’ origin,” she stated.
The couple agreed to cohabitate as a family of five, with the understanding that they could pursue relationships outside of their arrangement. Bri mentioned that Tyler visited them just before departing for Love is Blind season 7, and she wished him well in his quest for true love.
However, Bri was saddened to discover that Tyler initially kept their children’s existence from Ashley and “disowned” them after his revelations.
“I can’t wrap my head around why he felt the best way to do that would be to cut off the kids. Then, to make matters worse, lie on national television and say they’re merely sperm babies and they don’t know what he looks like,” she expressed.
Bri concluded her statements with a heartfelt prayer that her children would not have to witness this situation in the future. She expressed her desire for the turmoil to end, stating that she hopes to receive the financial support she believes they rightfully deserve.
All episodes from 1 to 11 of Love is Blind season 7 are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
