Currently, the NVIDIA RTX 50 GPUs are largely unavailable in Thailand’s DIY market, suggesting that consumers may face delays of several months before being able to purchase these sought-after graphics cards.
Retail Insights: “Expect to Wait Until July”as NVIDIA RTX 50 Series GPUs Remain Scarce in Thailand
Recent reports indicate that while Overclockers UK is set to receive their next shipment of RTX 50 series GPUs imminently—potentially arriving next month or in May—the situation is markedly different in Thailand. The local hardware market is encountering a significant shortage of these GPUs, resulting in growing frustration among consumers.
A specific user known as UX_thoughtful highlighted a troubling shortage in the DIY section of a retailer he visited, stating that no RTX 50 GPUs were available. His comment succinctly captures the sentiment surrounding the market: “Come to Thailand to see the market…”

According to feedback from a store clerk, customers in Thailand may have to endure a wait until July to acquire any of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. Notably, both the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were launched just three weeks ago, with the RTX 5070 Ti just unveiled yesterday. As we approach March, the prospect of a July arrival feels excessively drawn out for eager consumers.

The current predicament mirrors the previous challenges faced during the launch of the RTX 30 series, although the causes for those shortages were different. With the RTX 50 series, the underlying issues affecting availability remain unclear. Initially, it was speculated that miscommunication between NVIDIA and its AIB partners played a role, particularly concerning the launch of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080.
The recent launch of the RTX 5070 Ti revealed that numerous unforeseen factors continue to hinder supply chains. As we look ahead to future GPU releases, it’s prudent to anticipate a recurrence of these availability struggles. Moreover, reports suggest that the upcoming RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 models may face additional delays due to performance-related ‘bugs’, which could further extend their release timelines by up to four weeks.
We advise our readers to exercise patience and refrain from purchasing GPUs at inflated prices until the market stabilizes. In addition, consider waiting for AMD’s RDNA 4 launch, scheduled for the first week of March, which could offer alternative options for gamers and content creators alike.
