Nomura responded with curiosity, pondering whether it was referred to as the “paradise of promise”or the “paradise of pure.”He explained that the term “Paopu”is derived from a blend of words, adding an intriguing layer to its meaning.

Within the Kingdom Hearts universe, the distinctively star-shaped Paopu fruit is exclusively found on the Destiny Islands, the childhood home of characters Sora and Riku, and where Kairi spent her early years. According to local legend, sharing this fruit intertwines the destinies of two individuals forever. This poignant moment is beautifully depicted when Sora and Kairi share a Paopu fruit in Kingdom Hearts 3, symbolizing their deep bond.
