Following his win over Grigor Dimitrov in the 2024 Miami Open final, Jannik Sinner expressed his happiness at becoming the new World No. 2. He defeated Dimitrov 6-3, 6-1 in the final.
After his victory in Miami, Sinner was interviewed by the Tennis Channel where he expressed his thoughts on achieving a new career-high ranking. He described it as an “amazing accomplishment.”

Carlos Alcaraz playfully responds to April Fool’s Day prank
Although Carlos Alcaraz received an April Fool’s Day prank, he took it in good humor and joked about feeling hurt.
Babolat, one of his sponsors, arranged a challenge for him which required him to successfully land a ball inside a basket positioned on the other side of a house. With the help of a team member guiding his shots, Alcaraz took on the challenge.
Despite the team’s initial excitement and claim of success on the fourth attempt, Alcaraz was skeptical due to the date and suspected a prank. He insisted on viewing the video footage, which ultimately revealed that he had missed the target.
“You have hurt my feelings. You all guys,”Alcaraz joked when he was shown the video.
“It was so obvious,”Alcaraz said (in Spanish). “April Fools?”a Babolat team member asked. “But it was close. At least that’s something,”the Spaniard replied with a smile.
The Spaniard’s next tournament appearance will be at the Monte-Carlo Masters, following his loss in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open.
