Following the footsteps of its acclaimed predecessor, Tormented Souls 2 invites players into a chilling narrative punctuated by enigmatic puzzles that must be solved to advance the story.
Among the challenges you will encounter is the Teleport Mirror Puzzle, found deep within the unsettling confines of the Torture Museum. In this guide, we will break down the steps required to complete the puzzle and make the most of the mirror’s supernatural abilities.
Locating the Teleport Mirror Puzzle in Tormented Souls 2
The Teleport Mirror Puzzle is situated in the depths of the Torture Museum. Before you can access this area, you must first unlock the museum’s entrance. The door features a special locking mechanism (illustrated above), which can only be opened using a specific key acquired from the character Joseph.
Your initial encounter with Joseph involves completing a quick mission to retrieve the Cursed Book from a nearby prison. Once you deliver this book to him, you will receive the Museum Key as a reward.
With the key in hand, proceed to unlock the museum door and step inside. Explore the upper floor until you find a staircase leading downward (as shown above).Upon reaching the bottom, turn character Caroline toward the camera.
Navigate to the top left corner of the room. At the end of a short corridor, you’ll discover the entrance to the Torture Museum, where an array of historical torture devices awaits your exploration.
Proceed past the Stretcher torture device (another puzzle linked to the mirror) until you encounter yet another brief staircase leading to a padlocked door. Use your hammer to break the lock and gain access (illustrated above).
Upon entering, you will find yourself in the southernmost room of the Torture Museum, which features a foreboding mirror adorned with wax candles. These candles are crucial for solving the puzzle.
Solving the Teleport Mirror Puzzle in Tormented Souls 2
To solve the Teleport Mirror Puzzle, you must accurately light specific candles surrounding the mirror using your Lighter. Not all candles need to be lit—only the chosen ones.
As is common in various puzzles throughout the game, visual cues can assist in finding solutions. In this instance, a significant hint can be found in a portrait on the wall to the left of the Museum’s entrance. This portrait provides one of the most useful hints for this puzzle, closely approximating the correct solution.
To successfully complete the Teleport Mirror Puzzle, light the candles in the following order: first, light the bottom left candle, followed by the top left candle. Then, on the right side of the mirror, ignite the bottom three candles. If you accidentally light the wrong ones, you can extinguish them using the hand symbol.
Successfully lighting the correct candles triggers a cutscene where Caroline steps through the mirror into another realm, unlocking the Reflection trophy/achievement.
Utilizing the Teleport Mirror in Tormented Souls 2
The Teleport Mirror serves as a gateway to the “Other Side, ”which mirrors a hellish version of the convent. While exploring this alternate reality, players will encounter twisted versions of both the Museum and Torture Museum, along with lurking enemies ready to ambush you.
Although consumable items are scarce in this realm, exploring the Other Side is vital as it aids in solving certain puzzles, including the Stretcher torture device, which is essential for acquiring the Metal Pipe item.
From the door located at the top of a small staircase to the left of the Stretcher, players will find an alternate version of the Angel Statue puzzle from the Museum.
Additionally, another mirror can be located by following the path to the right of the Stretcher device, which temporarily returns you to the normal world within the Torture Museum. This secret area houses the Bronze Bull torture device and provides the Angel Heart item needed to complete the Angel Statue puzzle.
