Teaser Trailer Reveals Asaba Harumasa’s Secrets for Free Zenless Zone Zero Character

HoYoVerse has released an exciting new trailer for Zenless Zone Zero, showcasing the free S-rank character, Asaba Harumasa. This nearly four-minute video predominantly comprises an animated segment interwoven with snippets of gameplay, providing viewers with a glimpse into Asaba’s intriguing background and a significant secret.

The introductory trailers of Asaba Harumasa hinted at a laid-back demeanor, portraying him as a somewhat lethargic member of Section 6. Clad in traditional Japanese apparel, this character wields a bow that can seamlessly transform into blades. Notably, he is often seen sporting a choker adorned with an X symbol. Yet, the Character Demo video unveils a more vulnerable side, depicting a terrified Asaba grappling with haunting childhood memories. Medication on his nightstand and a document with redacted information signify a troubled past.

In the demo, Asaba embarks on an assignment, and a pivotal moment occurs when he glimpses an Ethereal enemy in the mirror instead of his own reflection. As he steps outside, the reactions of bystanders intensify—their bewildered stares and inquiries label him a monster responsible for harm. The video then transitions to gameplay where he confronts Hollow enemies. However, interspersed flashbacks reveal a younger Asaba undergoing an injection, suggesting a potential transformation into an Ethereal being. Throughout his missions, Asaba becomes increasingly aware of his darker destiny. During one intense moment, as he rescues a child from danger, the frightened kid ends up seeing the Ethereal instead of Asaba.
