Each character’s birthday celebration unfolds in two distinct phases:
- Preparation (or Puzzle) Phase: Lasting around three days before the main event, this phase resembles a typical login event, rewarding players for daily tasks with a focus on the character’s celebration. Rewards include a limited currency that can be exchanged for consumables. Some celebrations are also dubbed the Birthday Puzzle, which provides additional jigsaw pieces to complete special artwork.
- Birthday Event Phase: Spanning the final 10 or 11 days of the birthday fortnight, this phase includes time-limited birthday banners featuring boosted character Visions, reruns of previous birthday banners, and a unique multi-part storyline yielding various rewards. Expect special costumes, extra conversations, CGs, and upgraded Visions for the respective character, with an exclusive exchange shop for event currency featuring valuable gains like new Visions and leveling materials.
Celebrating Your Birthday in Tears of Themis
In addition to the character celebrations, players receive a warm acknowledgment of their own birthday within ToT. Unlike the in-game characters, players age with each passing year—though it’s all part of the fun!
Upon setting up your account, players input their birthday details—ToT even indicates the necessity to use the Asian date format (MM/DD), a detail appreciated by many players worldwide.
Note: The in-game date follows server time and operates on Japan/Korea time (UTC+9).This can lead to discrepancies, particularly for players in Europe or the Americas, who may find the in-game clock ahead. Adjusting your birthday in the game might be prudent—especially if you want to ensure you log in at the right time!
On your birthday, you can partake in two special in-game events.
The first event involves receiving birthday blessings from all four main characters, available exclusively on your birthday from midnight to midnight server time. Access these messages via a button on the main screen, with each message running approximately 90 seconds.
The second event is a delightful gift from each lead character, sent straight to your Consumables Inventory after viewing the birthday messages. Each gift typically includes:
- One standard gacha pull currency
- An Energy Drink Family Pack (restores 60 points of AP)
- Skill leveling materials for the character associated with the gift
- A commemorative gift box added to your Collectibles Inventory
If you happen to get caught up in real-life celebrations and miss logging in on your birthday, don’t fret! Logging in anytime within the next seven days ensures the gifts arrive in your in-game mail, with an additional 30 days to claim them. However, the character messages can only be viewed on the actual birthday recognized by the game.
Players born on Leap Day should be aware that if February 29th is absent that year, birthday messages will be available on February 28th instead.
Birthday rewards in Tears of Themis fluctuate yearly, influenced by the real-world date recognized by the server. New players should note that they will not have access to special messages or unique rewards from previous years (2021-2024).However, players do receive a complimentary birthday reset when starting their accounts. If your actual birthday has already occurred this year, consider setting your profile to a future date — such as the day after your account setup — to enjoy the 2025 birthday rewards before utilizing your Birthday Encryption Key to update to your actual birthday.
