The most recent episode of Season 6 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way premiered on Monday, October 7, 2024, spotlighting a conflict between Tata and James surrounding their finances and living arrangement.

In Episode 15, titled “Fools Rushed In,”Tata and James attempted on traditional Indonesian wedding attire. While Tata was thrilled about the upcoming wedding, James found himself preoccupied with financial worries, fearing that their dwindling funds would impede their ability to afford an elaborate ceremony.

He ultimately voiced his concerns to Tata, suggesting they return to the United States. James explained that he wouldn’t find work in Indonesia due to language barriers, and with their urgent financial woes, they needed immediate income. As her husband and a member of her family, he felt it was vital to support them financially, which he believed could only happen back in the States.

Tata reacted negatively to his proposal, insisting that they remain in her hometown and explore alternative solutions. She reminded James of the sacrifices she made while adapting to life in the US for three years. Breaking down emotionally, Tata refused to relocate, claiming that her hyperthyroidism could not be managed in the US.

Tata from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way urges James to consider returning to the US alone

Prior to their dispute, the couple was seen trying on traditional Javanese wedding outfits. While Tata was enthusiastic, James struggled to embrace the unconventional style, which involved a dress, jacket, and headgear.

“This feels strange. I can’t put it any other way. I’m in a dress. A dress with something like a bucket on my head,”James expressed.

Their day took a downturn when James grew anxious about the financial burden of their wedding plans. While crafting jewelry for a new business venture, he confided in Tata his worries about the lack of interest from potential customers.

With their business not yet profitable, they were relying on savings to get by, and James revealed that attempts to partner with local stores had been unsuccessful due to design clashes.

When James revealed that most of their clientele was based in the US, Tata suggested shipping items there. However, James dismissed this notion, arguing it would only increase their expenses. He pressed that they needed quick financial solutions, to which Tata countered that she had already been applying for jobs, though they were located in a distant city.

“Before I moved to the US, I worked as a data scientist here in Indonesia. I’ve been applying for that role again these past weeks. Unfortunately, most opportunities are based in Jakarta, which is a nine-hour train ride away and pretty costly,”she mentioned.

James expressed concern about societal judgment if he remained unemployed, fearing he would be seen as a failure by Tata’s family as well. Running out of options, he suggested they return to the US, to Tata’s displeasure.

She promptly responded, stating she had no intention of moving back. When James attempted to reason with her about financial dependency on her parents, Tata replied:

“I miss them. I don’t wanna leave them again.”

Attempting to comfort her, Tata clashed with him, asserting he wasn’t fully grasping her feelings. She recounted the hardships she endured in the US.

She expressed frustration that doctors in the US hadn’t diagnosed her condition, whereas she received the appropriate care in Indonesia. Although James reassured her that he would locate the best medical professionals, Tata promptly rejected his reassurances, stating:

“We’ve seen so many doctors. It’s been a lot.”

She was also reluctant to return, citing that James was mostly working while she remained at home. She surprised him with the suggestion:

“Maybe you could go back while I stay here.”

Despite James’s attempts to propose alternate solutions, Tata remained resolute. Speaking to the camera, she declared that it was all “nonsense.”She truly believed they could navigate their challenges while living in Indonesia. She concluded by expressing her frustration, stating, “It’s not fair that I spent three years in the States, and James struggles to adapt for just three months.”
