Tamra Judge from The Real Housewives of Orange County Discusses Her Recent Therapy Session and Life on the Spectrum

The popular Bravo reality series, The Real Housewives of Orange County, continues to engage audiences by showcasing the personal and professional journeys of its cast members. Recently, one of its prominent figures, Tamra Judge, candidly discussed her mental health struggles during an episode of her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod.

On October 15, 2024, she took to Instagram to express her ongoing commitment to therapy as a means to address past traumas that have affected her well-being.

Tamra revealed that her therapist noted her sensory sensitivities and social anxiety may indicate she is “on the spectrum.”Following this significant realization, she mentioned her intention to handle this new understanding “in a more private manner.”

“My therapist told me that many of my traits—such as how I process information, my sensory difficulties, my discomfort with eye contact, and my preference for routine—are all indicators of being on the spectrum,”she detailed in her post.

Initially, Tamra contemplated withholding this personal disclosure but ultimately decided it was crucial to share her experiences with her audience. She expressed a desire to bring her fans along on her path of healing, regardless of the online negativity she encountered. Tamra emphasized her resolve to reveal authentic parts of her life, considering this admission vital to her journey of self-improvement.

“If you know me, you understand that I dislike appearing weak or adopting a victim mentality. I also have a strong aversion to labels and excuses. But I am focused on my growth—not as a reality TV persona, but as a person striving to be better for myself and those around me,”she commented.

Tamra has opted to process this newfound information “more privately.”During her podcast, she shared with co-host Teddi Mellencamp that her upbringing involved a family environment lacking in empathy and affection, which has contributed to her adult struggles and her decision to seek therapy for childhood wounds.

In her Instagram update, Tamra expressed:

“I have significant past trauma that I’ve held onto for 15 years. I am finally addressing it and seeking help, and I’m proud of that progress. While I appreciate the wonderful individuals who’ve reached out, I believe it’s best to approach this healing process more privately until I achieve a healthier mental state.”
