Take-Two CEO Discusses GTA 6 Xbox Series S Support: “We Find Ways to Support Platforms”
Grand Theft Auto 6 remains one of the most eagerly awaited video games of the last decade, with a slated launch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in the fall of 2025. However, uncertainties surrounding its compatibility with the lesser-powered Xbox Series S have sparked concerns among some shareholders of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games.
Questions Arise on GTA 6’s Xbox Series S Compatibility
During an earnings call on November 6, 2024, CEO Strauss Zelnick was approached by shareholder Clay Griffin, who raised questions about the technical capabilities of the Series S console regarding GTA 6. Griffin expressed concerns regarding the console’s capacity to handle the extensive technical demands that the game is expected to present:
“Well, just that Series S is, by design, a lower-specced console. And presumably, GTA VI will push many boundaries technically, I would suspect.”
In response, Zelnick emphasized Take-Two Interactive’s commitment to supporting various platforms, regardless of their technical specifications:
“Yeah. Look, we support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they’re there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that. I’m not really worried.”
