This is what Samsung’s new foldable smartphones will look like. How do you like them?

Samsung’s new foldable smartphones are still many weeks away from the premiere – we expect the manufacturer to introduce them only in the second half of 2022. Regardless, we already know what the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will look like.

Of the two, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 was undoubtedly the more exciting. There is information that this will be the first Galaxy foldable smartphone with a place for the S Pen stylus, which is not in the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Unfortunately, these reports will not be confirmed in practice. However, there will be support for stylus support.

According to preliminary information, the internal screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a diagonal of 7.2 inches and an aspect ratio of 6:5, while the external screen will have an aspect ratio of 6.2 inches and an aspect ratio of 23:9. Therefore, in both cases, the displays will be slightly lower and wider than in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (5:4 and 24.5:9, respectively), which should, especially in the case of an external one, make it easier to work with and increase the overall comfort of use (there were voices that it is definitely too tall and narrow). Its width should be equal to the screen width of the iPhone 13 mini.

This will affect the dimensions of the device – Galaxy Z Fold 4 when unfolded should measure 155x130x7.1 mm. Recall that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 when unfolded has dimensions of 158.2 × 128.1 × 6.4 mm. In addition, it is also known that the new smartphone will receive a 4400 mAh battery with support for 25 W wired charging, which is similar to its predecessor.

In addition, there is information that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is “very light” – it will weigh less than 260 grams, that is, an iPhone 13 Pro Max with a case. That’s a pretty significant difference as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 weighs 271 grams.

Although the Galaxy Z Fold 4 looks the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in graphics, in reality it will be noticeably different – pay attention to the camera module (there is no island, there are only lenses, like in the Galaxy S22 Ultra). However, you can look at renderings of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, and you won’t find any visual differences from the Galaxy Z Flip 3 because there shouldn’t be.

Perhaps Samsung decided that since the latest Galaxy Z Flip is so popular, then you can start “warming up the cutlet”, because it will still be sold (especially since they say that the new generation should be cheaper to start with). It is also possible that at the moment it does not have breakthrough technologies that could be used in the Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, will have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor (manufactured by TSMC) and support for 25W wired charging, so it will be a step up. At the same time, the battery capacity will be significantly increased – from 3300 mAh to 3700 mAh.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 with a 6.7-inch internal screen should measure 165.1 x 71.9 x 7.2mm, while the unfolded Galaxy Z Flip 3 should measure 166x72x2x6.9mm. This smartphone will also be slightly thicker, but this should not negatively affect the comfort of using it.
