Through this collaboration, FCS is leveraging T-Mobile’s extensive network to enhance its capabilities in detecting water leaks. By utilizing advanced acoustic monitoring systems equipped with cutting-edge sensors, the partnership aims to identify underground pipe leaks in real time. This technology is deployed across various U. S.cities, enabling local utilities to detect and address potential issues before they escalate into major problems.

FCS will utilize T-Mobile’s Business IoT services alongside its well-regarded 5G network, recognized as the best in the country by Ookla. This integration allows water utilities to receive crucial, real-time information, helping them act swiftly and significantly reduce operating costs. Beth Powell, President of Fluid Conservation Systems, shed light on the pressing challenge of aging water pipes, noting that this strategic alliance will enhance leak detection precision. She stated:

Water utilities across the country struggle with aging infrastructure, hidden leaks, and limited resources. Our acoustic leak detectors, connected by T-Mobile, give utilities real-time data to accurately pinpoint leaks before they become costly problems. We’re essentially listening for leaks overnight, so our customers can wake up each morning knowing exactly where to focus their efforts.

With an astonishing 33 trillion gallons of water lost annually in the United States due to aging infrastructure, as reported by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the urgency of addressing this issue cannot be overstated. T-Mobile’s robust network capabilities empower FCS to transmit data swiftly, including from challenging monitoring areas, thereby tackling a monumental problem in resource management. This strategic usage of technology not only conserves water but also signifies a revolutionary shift towards smarter resource management practices.
