AMD is on the verge of releasing its latest Ryzen 7 9700F processor, based on the Zen 5 architecture. This speculation arises from a recent mention by a system integrator in connection with a pre-built gaming PC. Interestingly, both the Ryzen 9700X and 9700F were referenced on the same product page, leading to some confusion.
BlazeCore Highlights Boost Clock for Ryzen 7 9700F in Pre-Built Gaming PC—Configuration Yet to Be Updated
For those keeping tabs on advancements with AMD’s Zen 5 series, the Ryzen 9000 lineup recently revealed two new processors—specifically the Ryzen 5 9500F and Ryzen 7 9700F. These processors are distinguishing themselves as the first entries in the Zen 5 family to lack integrated graphics, indicated by the “F”designation. Although AMD has yet to provide official statements regarding these new models, various leaks suggest that preparations are indeed underway to launch both CPUs.

Recently, the Ryzen 7 9700F was spotted on Microless, a retailer based in the UAE. They also recently showcased some high-end NVIDIA graphics cards, namely the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab and the Astral RTX 5080 Dhahab CORE. Interestingly, the pre-built gaming setup includes the Ryzen 7 9700X; however, the description unexpectedly lists the “Ryzen 7 9700F”as well, even though it isn’t present in the actual configuration.

This may be a typographical error, or the system integrator might be planning to update the configuration to incorporate the Ryzen 7 9700F, which boasts a slightly lower boost clock at 5.4 GHz, compared to the 5.5 GHz of the Ryzen 7 9700X. This discrepancy hints at the possibility of multiple configurations for this gaming PC featuring AMD’s new Zen 5 CPU, although this remains speculative.
If BlazeCore opts to replace the Ryzen 9700X with the 9700F, users may not notice a decline in overall performance, as both processors share an identical core and thread arrangement, along with matching base clocks of 3.8 GHz and L3 cache size. However, prospective buyers should bear in mind that the absence of an integrated GPU may limit some functionalities in specific scenarios. This factor is likely to contribute to the lower price point of the Ryzen 9700F compared to the 9700X. Notably, the recent listing still indicated a price of $294, which is somewhat higher than initially anticipated.
