At first glance, players in SynDuality: Echo of Ada may only recognize their affiliation with the Drifter Support Association. While missions for the Association may appear straightforward, primarily revolving around resource gathering from the surface, players should be aware that an alternative faction awaits them beneath this facade.
During the initial tutorial, players receive subtle hints regarding the presence of rogue Drifters who engage in unlawful activities. These individuals, referred to as Outlaws, operate outside the scope of the Drifter Support Association and can be approached in one of two distinct ways.
Change Factions by Hunting Other Players

The first method to switch factions involves confronting another player in battle and acquiring their Magus. When embarking on an expedition, employing a strategy of surprise is key to successfully defeating an opponent. After vanquishing another player, loot their fallen crate to gain the Magus and secure a bounty reward. Once you manage to complete this process three times, you will be formally designated an Outlaw by the Drifter Support Association, leading to expulsion from the group.
Consequently, independent factions become accessible, in which players can undertake contracts that yield exclusive rewards, including unique Cradle parts, fashionable Magus accessories, and specialized weaponry.
It’s important to note that players seeking to engage in these confrontations must maintain a clean or cautionary standing within the Association. Engaging an Outlaw yields only the bounty for returning a lost Magus to its rightful owner.
To maximize effectiveness while hunting down opponents, consider equipping long-range weaponry like the Sniper Rifle HE or the Bolt Sniper Rifle, as these weapons deliver high damage output per shot and possess extensive range capabilities. Be mindful, however, of fall-off damage that occurs with increased distance.
To assess weapon ranges effectively, inspect them within the garage and monitor the range indicators displayed on the HUD beneath the crosshairs. Achieving a critical advantage can be accomplished by targeting an opponent from behind, particularly in the center torso area, ensuring they are caught unaware. Additionally, various CRADLECOFFIN models enhance damage inflicted on other Cradles, including the SHINTower and BOWIEChilipepper series.
Leave the Drifter Support Association for a Hefty Fee

If direct combat doesn’t appeal to you, a second option to transition into the role of an Outlaw exists — simply exit the Drifter Support Association. This choice, while not immediately obvious, is subtly indicated via radio announcements in the garage area. Players can navigate through the in-game menus, accessing the Records screen between expeditions. By selecting “Organization,” a prompt allows players to withdraw from the Drifter Support Association for a sum of 100,000 Credits.
Upon payment of this substantial fee, players will experience a cutscene, after which opportunities arise to engage with independent organizations. Completing these missions yields an array of unique items, including three exclusive CRADLECOFFIN frames unavailable to Association members, a variety of clothing designs for Magus, and three distinct ballistic weapons.
Eventually, players have the opportunity to rejoin the Drifter Support Association without incurring any additional fees. Alternatively, they can opt to settle any bounties accrued from taking down other players’ Cradles during their time as an Outlaw.
