The captivating game *Sword of the Sea* invites players to traverse diverse biomes, each filled with unique environments—from nostalgic, rolling sand dunes reminiscent of *Journey* to perilous, fiery volcanic terrains that threaten to incinerate the unwary. Among these varied settings lies the Shadow Tundra, a snowy realm where players will master the art of boosting and navigate substantial gaps to uncover hidden secrets.
These secrets come in the form of collectible shells, cleverly camouflaged against the snowy backdrop. Their shimmering white color makes them particularly elusive. Fear not, for this comprehensive guide will assist you in collecting them swiftly. It’s worth noting that the developer, Giant Squid, recently announced plans to shift these collectibles during their final update. Unfortunately, this information was not disclosed beforehand. Therefore, while we anticipate that most shells will be located where detailed below, be prepared for possible inaccuracies. We are committed to updating this guide post-release if necessary.
Shell #1
Your journey begins in a snowstorm that significantly hampers visibility, making the first shell challenging to locate. However, you can spot it with relative ease by following the path marked by the pointing statues. Once you approach the door to the adjacent area, backtrack to the last statue encountered and ascend to the top. There, on the tip of the statue’s sword, you will discover the first shell.

Once you navigate through the snowy terrain, you’ll reach a vast open area featuring a monumental stone statue shortly after completing the snowstorm puzzle. To find the second shell, scale the statue and inspect the very tip of its sword, where the shell awaits.
Shell #3
After completing this section and utilizing the chain mechanics, proceed through an icy corridor leading to a tunnel. However, if you reach the tunnel, you have gone too far. Turn your attention to the right along the icy cave path; upon examining the wall, you will uncover a small alcove sheltering your next shell.
Shell #4
Beyond the loop-de-loop tunnel, you will enter an area adorned with pillars and beams of light. Once again, scrutinize the wall on your right. Identify the window-like opening that is missing its chain—within lies your next shell.
Shell #5
Continuing from this area, you will arrive at the first wide-open space, where you are encouraged to utilize boosting techniques to soar through the air and clear vast gaps. As you enter this section, look skyward to spot three broken bridge segments overhead. By chaining your boosts, you can leap across these and claim the shell positioned atop the furthest one.
Shell #6
Upon securing the previous shell with a mighty jump, pivot your gaze to the right toward an icy expanse littered with animal skeletons. Use these bones to grind your way upward, which will allow you to cleanse the area. Before doing so, however, take a jump directly into the skull of one of the animals, where another shell is tucked away.
Shell #7
After activating the tower and descending into a new open area, veer to the left towards the tower. Upon clearing the gap to the island supporting it, ignore the tower and traverse behind it down the hill. There, you will encounter a shark statue along with the message inscribed: “The Great Shark.”By platforming behind the statue, you will find yet another shell hidden away.
Shell #8
Next, direct yourself to the opposing tower and ascend to the summit of the icy hills for a better vantage point. While it may be tempting to launch off this hill, instead, descend left along the slope. Keep an eye out for a snow mound forming a convenient ramp. Gain some height, and at the peak of this arch, you’ll spot your next shell.
Shell #9
To uncover the subsequent shell, repeat the earlier process, but rather than taking the ramp, pause just before it and glance to your right. You’ll notice a gap in the rocks leading to a small hideaway that conceals another shell for your collection.

As you approach the exit of the level, look closely at the icicles positioned to the right of the shark statue. There, you’ll discover a gap in the ice. Proceed through this opening and follow the path until you uncover yet another shell.
