Are you one sword down due to an encounter with a menacing snake lurking around? Worry not! You can easily ride alongside your buddy, who possesses a distinct sword skill. This unique ability grants access to the Water Rail skill, facilitating navigation to previously inaccessible locations—perfect for uncovering valuable collectibles like the hidden shells scattered throughout the area.
However, spotting these shells is no easy task; they’re cleverly tucked away, demanding a keen eye from those daring enough to explore. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to help you discover all the shells in record time.
Please note, the developers at Giant Squid recently indicated their intention to relocate some collectibles in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this information came after our guide’s completion, with no prior notice in pre-release materials. While we believe most shells will remain in their respective locations, it’s essential to keep in mind that slight inaccuracies may exist, a situation beyond our control. We are committed to updating this guide should any changes occur following the day-one patch.
Shell #1
Your adventure begins with the first shell located in the room adorned with Dolphin Statues. Navigate to the rock mound situated in the corner and utilize the Water Rail ability to glide from one statue to another. You’ll find the hidden shell nestled on the right side of the back statue.
Shell #2
Shortly after, as you approach an area where you must use the Water Rail to ignite lanterns and unveil a gate alongside magnificent golden artwork, keep an eye on the right wall. You’ll discover a gap leading into another space. Glide over the chasm that appears ahead of you, and you’ll soon uncover your second shell.
Shell #3
Proceed until you reach a cleansing area, which brings forth both nautical creatures and lush seaweed. Ride a whale to ascend to the top of the room, and along the circular ridge up there, a shell awaits you.
Shell #4
Upon exiting this section, you’ll find yourself in an expansive area. It may evoke memories of the Soifra River from Elden Ring, minus the troublesome archers. Look towards the cliffside on your right, and you’ll spot a cluster of boats protruding from the rocks. One of these boats conceals a cave entrance, leading you to another shell.

Once you’ve activated the lanterns and progressed to the next map level, glance to your left before stepping through the archway leading to the boating area. You’ll notice a shell on a solitary boat situated near the exit door. This shell can be tricky to reach, but using a mix of height and quick boosts will help you grab it. If it’s out of reach, wait until you repair the chain that leads further down the level, granting you an aerial view for easier access.

Next, cleanse the area to elevate the ship. Once you’ve done so and accessed the deck, use the ramp to rise to an upper level where yet another shell awaits discovery.

From your newly acquired viewpoint on the ship, peer down the side. You should see a platform in the distance graced by two statues, with one shell nestled in between them. Given that the area has been cleansed, traversing this section should be straightforward, leading you to your seventh shell.

While enjoying your exploration, make your way past a small aqueduct heading to the lower level, but avoid dropping down just yet. Instead, stick to the upper perimeter along the left side. Following this path around will reveal another shell hidden within.
Shell #9
This shell is quite sneaky indeed! Navigate around the ship’s perimeter, and you’ll eventually discover an entrance allowing you to delve into the boat’s hull. Inside, you’ll encounter various pots and treasure chests. Pay careful attention to a pot tipped on its side; here lies yet another shell.
Shell #10
Following this, employ the chain to scale up to the higher map levels. As you navigate this precarious area filled with boats and jellyfish, look down midway to spot a set of lanterns significantly lower than the rest. Drop down to this secluded area to uncover another shell waiting for you.
Shell #11
Finally, once you’ve cleansed all areas in the upper section and are gearing up to follow the lantern path from one of the tallest towers to the next, take note of a trio of lanterns directing you towards a floating island to the side. Glide with precision to reach this hidden island, where your last shell in the Sacred River can be found. I accidentally grabbed it before capturing a screenshot, but rest assured, it’s there!
