Survivor 47 Episode 5 Elimination: Who Was Voted Out?

The fifth episode of Survivor 47 debuted on October 16 on CBS, introducing a fresh lineup of contestants battling for survival in the stunning Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. The players were divided into three teams, each undertaking a series of challenges, while the least performing team faced a tough decision: to vote out one of their own.

Team Gata found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard, leading them to tribal council. Ultimately, Anika Dhar was voted out, receiving three votes against her in this episode of Survivor 47.

In disbelief, Anika looked towards her teammates, seeking an explanation for her elimination. When she inquired about the votes, Sam and Andy raised their hands, revealing their involvement.

The episode’s synopsis, titled “The Scales Be Tippin,”states:

“The fallout from tribal council leaves one castaway feeling isolated. Tribes must take their shot in the reward challenge to secure a victory and gain an advantage.”

What led to Anika Dhar’s elimination in Survivor 47 episode 5?

In Survivor 47 episode 5, Sam and Rachel from Team Gata made it to the Sanctuary reward. Yet, the team faltered in the immunity challenge, struggling through an obstacle course that involved cutting ropes, transporting coconuts in a net, and rebuilding knocked-down blocks.

Gata managed to negotiate with host Jeff Probst, swapping their earlier reward of three chickens for 18 eggs. However, their loss in the challenge led them straight to tribal council for a vote-out elimination.

Prior to the tribal meeting, confusion arose within Gata regarding their voting decision. Among the five teammates, discussions circulated about eliminating either Andy, Anika, or Sam.

Feeling threatened, Andy sought to align with Rachel and Anika, hoping to be included in their strategy. However, the two members doubted his loyalty and concocted a fake plan guiding him to vote for Sam. Anticipating their tactic, Andy sought out Sam and Sierra to hatch a counter plan.

Unbeknownst to Rachel and Anika, Andy, Sam, and Sierra had formed a secret alliance and were plotting to vote Anika out. Ultimately, Sam and Sierra decided to stick to their plan, voting off the marketing manager.

Before the voting commenced, Andy expressed that the situation hinged on hope and the anticipation of the outcome. Sam opted not to play his one-time immunity idol, placing his confidence in the voting result. Predictions turned out to be accurate; when the votes were read, Probst announced that Anika would be leaving the game that episode.
