A braver subset—about 13 percent—indicated that only when their battery percentage fell below 10 percent would they begin to feel anxious. In contrast, 24 percent of participants actively charge their devices before reaching that 50 percent mark, promoting better battery health and longevity.

Notably, the “baby boomer”generation appears to exhibit the least anxiety regarding smartphone battery levels, with many opting to recharge once their devices hit around 34 percent. This may reflect broader technological familiarities or simply a more relaxed attitude toward battery management.

The way users interact with battery indicators also plays a vital role in their anxiety. According to the survey, 39 percent of Americans base their decision to charge their smartphone on the visual battery bar, whereas 61 percent prefer to rely on the exact percentage displayed on their devices.
