Surface Pro 9 major firmware update addresses keyboard, sleep, and charging issues

Microsoft has introduced a significant firmware update for the ninth-generation Surface Pro equipped with Intel processors. This update, available for download via Windows Update or the official Surface Support website, resolves several bugs, including issues with non-responsive touchpads, Slim Pen charging problems, and missing keyboard inputs, among others.

It’s important to note that this update is not applicable to the Surface Pro 9 5G running on the Microsoft SQ3 processor.

  • Enhances the device’s connectivity capabilities with other devices through USB-C for direct peer-to-peer communication.

  • Addresses the issue where the Slim Pen unexpectedly charged upon device wake from sleep mode, affecting overall power consumption.

  • Mitigates the problem where the Caps Lock LED did not accurately reflect its ON/OFF status, although the key itself was functioning correctly.

  • Fixes the issue of dropped double letters when typing rapidly.

  • Improves the device wake-up experience with a quicker response time.
