The September 2024 firmware update is now accessible for both the original and second-generation Surface Laptop Studio models. This month’s update primarily targets enhancements in charging functionalities, specifically addressing the malfunctioning Battery Limit feature, improvements in Battery Protection Mode, Smart Charging optimizations, and more.

The following update is available for Surface Laptop Studio devices that are operating on Windows 10 September 2022 Update, Version 22H2, or higher.

• Resolves issues that were preventing the Battery Limit setting from functioning correctly.

• Enhances the Battery Protection Mode feature by enabling protection only when necessary, which aids in extending the battery’s lifespan and preserving its health.

• Fixes a problem that caused Smart Charging to activate slower than anticipated.
