Surface Laptop Go 3 and Go 2 receive firmware update with battery enhancements and display fixes
Microsoft has rolled out a significant firmware update for its entry-level Surface laptops, introducing crucial enhancements. This update addresses a security vulnerability in the fingerprint sensor, resolves the non-reactive Battery Limit feature, and fixes display flickering issues, among other improvements. Additionally, the Surface Laptop Go 2 has been patched to rectify three security vulnerabilities associated with Intel components. These updates have been gradually released across the Surface lineup throughout September.

The following update is accessible for Surface Laptop Go 3 and Go 2 devices running Windows 10 September 2022 Update, Version 22H2, or later.
Fixes a fingerprint authentication bypass security vulnerability to mitigate spoofing attacks.
Corrects the issue that was hindering the functionality of the Battery Limit setting.
Moreover, the Surface Laptop Go 2 has received several additional fixes:
- Addresses a potential security vulnerability related to Intel® Security Advisories INTEL-SA-00999, INTEL-SA-01083, and INTEL-SA-01071.
- Enhances compliance with data collection regulations and updates the consent experience related to data transmission.
- Resolves the issue that caused screen flickering or flashing when connected to Surface Dock 2.
