Important Announcement for Beat Saber Players on PlayStation
PlayStation 4 and 5 owners utilizing PlayStation VR and PSVR 2 headsets will soon face limitations regarding new content for Beat Saber. Effective June 18, 2025, updates and new songs will no longer be accessible on these platforms. This information comes from the official statement released by the developers. The current iterations of the game will remain playable on both consoles, preserving the experience for existing users.
The last song added to Beat Saber before this change was “Abracadabra”by Lady Gaga, featured as a single track. Notably, the game itself will not be delisted. Players can still find and access their existing content, including downloadable content (DLC), on the PlayStation Store. Furthermore, customer support for the game will continue to be available for users.
Multiplayer Mode Support Set to End
Players should also be aware of an impending cut-off regarding multiplayer functionality. Currently, owners of Beat Saber on PS4 and PS5 can enjoy online multiplayer; however, this feature will cease on January 21, 2026. Unfortunately, the announcement did not clarify the reasons behind this decision.
Recent Trends in Beat Saber Support
This marks the second instance in a short period where support for various platforms has been reduced. In November 2024, Beat Games and Oculus Studios discontinued support for Beat Saber on the Meta Quest 1, citing its inability to accommodate future updates as the reason.
For those still eager to enjoy Beat Saber, it is important to note that the game remains available on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and PCs equipped with VR headsets. However, it is imperative for PS4 and PS5 users that no new content will be introduced after mid-2025, limiting the growth and expansion of the game on these platforms.
