Support for AMD’s Unreleased Radeon RX 7300 in AIDA64: Is AMD Set to Launch Entry-Level RDNA 3 GPUs?

Recent reports suggest that the Radeon RX 7300 GPU has been recognized within the AIDA64 software, hinting at its development status even though it has yet to be officially unveiled by AMD.

Previously, speculation surrounding AMD’s potential release of two entry-level RDNA 3 graphics cards, namely the Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300, surfaced last year. However, these GPUs have not yet come to market. Recent developments indicate that at least one of these graphics cards, the RX 7300, may indeed be in the pipeline, as suggested by a consistent update in the AIDA64 application.

AIDA64, a widely used hardware monitoring tool, has incorporated the Radeon RX 7300 into its GPU support list. This addition was highlighted by @Olrak29_, who pointed out that the latest version of AIDA64 Extreme (beta) 7.65.7415 now includes a mention of the RX 7300 alongside the “NAVI 33″designation. This confirmation aligns with earlier disclosures made by leaker Komachi Ensaka regarding this potential graphics card.

This revelation could imply that AMD still has plans for launching the RDNA 3-based entry-level models within the RX 7000 series. Alternatively, it’s possible that the RX 7300 may be exclusive to OEMs, limiting its availability to consumers in comparison to other standalone graphics cards. Notably, AMD’s recent transition to the RX 9000 series left a gap in entry-level offerings, contrasting with the RX 6000 series, which included budget-friendly models like the RX 6500 XT and RX 6400.

The RX 7300 is anticipated to be the first GPU in the X300 class of the RDNA architecture and is expected to feature between 640 and 896 stream processors, along with either 4GB or 6GB of VRAM and a memory bus of 64 or 96 bits. Pricing for this graphics card is likely to fall within the $100 to $130 range. The fate of the RX 7400 remains uncertain, but it is projected to come equipped with 6 GB of VRAM and approximately 1024 to 1536 stream processors.

These entry-level GPUs are designed for users who do not need any additional power connectors, making them suitable for everyday tasks or for managing multi-monitor setups that enhance productivity. In the context of the forthcoming RX 9000 series, built on the RDNA 4 architecture, details about the X300 and X400 classes remain scarce. However, a recent sighting of the Radeon RX 9050 on a website suggests that AMD may still have budget-oriented options in their future roadmap.
