Superbon says he learned a major lesson in loss to Tawanchai: “There’s only one guy I need to beat”
Upon reflection, Superbon Training Camp realized the valuable lessons he gained from his action-packed defeat at the hands of Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
At ONE Friday Fights 46, Superbon stepped out of his usual featherweight kickboxing division to take on the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai in an explosive super-fight. Despite demonstrating a courageous performance over the course of five rounds, Tawanchai was able to hold onto his title and secure a unanimous decision victory.
During a recent interview with ONE, Superbon shared his thoughts on the lessons he learned from the war.
“I did something that I shouldn’t do when I fought [Tawanchai]. Yeah, and I’ve learned from that fight. I think like this, ‘Okay there’s only one guy I need to beat in the ring. That’s it.”
Despite his impressive kickboxing resume, Superbon’s reign as the two-time ONE featherweight world champion came to an end in January 2023 when he suffered a second-round knockout loss to Chingiz Allazov. However, just five months later, the Thai superstar began his journey back to ONE gold with a stunning knockout victory over Tayfun Ozcan.

Superbon seeks redemption with gold in ONE Friday Fights 58 main event
Superbon is determined to reclaim ONE gold during the ONE Friday Fights 58 main event on April 5. Although he will have the chance to do so, the 33-year-old knows that the upcoming opportunity will only temporarily fulfill him, as he will be going up against Marat Grigorian for the ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world title.
Despite this, Superbon’s upcoming fight carries significant consequences as he has previously both won and lost against Grigorian. Not only does this provide the opportunity to settle the score, but it also presents the chance for the Thai superstar to secure a much-needed rematch against Chingiz Allazov.
Grigorian’s motivation will remain unchanged, as he experienced a unanimous decision defeat against Allazov in August 2023 during the latter’s first world title defense.
On Friday, ONE Championship will hold its 58th installment of Friday Fights at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Fans can tune in to watch the event, which includes two world title matches, live and at no cost on ONE Championship’s digital platforms.
