On October 17, 2024, BTS enthusiasts were overjoyed as J-hope marked his return from military service, having completed an 18-month commitment. The excitement intensified when the eldest member, Jin, made a surprising appearance to welcome the rapper home.
Clad in a striking all-maroon Gucci ensemble, Jin arrived carrying a large bouquet of flowers. Fans and members of the press had gathered outside the military base, eager to witness J-hope’s return. As he emerged, waving and bowing to the delighted crowd, Jin stepped out of one of the cars, igniting further euphoria among the attendees.
The joyous rapper-dancer was thrilled to see Jin, the first member of BTS to finish his military service, having done so in June of this year. The remaining members — RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — are still fulfilling their military obligations.
Fans affectionately nicknamed the duo the “2 Seoks,”with Jin often referred to as the “Moon”and J-hope as the “Sun.”Their reunion sent social media into a frenzy of celebration.

The idol, who enlisted in April 2023, took a moment to engage with the media gathered outside. “I must express my gratitude. First and foremost, thank you so much. I returned from military service in good health. Truly, I am thankful. I also appreciate all the reporters who traveled this distance for us. I was able to complete my service well and in good health thanks to the fans,”he stated.
As J-hope spoke, Jin supportively held the microphones, exemplifying their strong friendship. J-hope also reflected on his duties as an assistant drill instructor during his time in service, sharing anecdotes about the marches and the encouragement the soldiers received from the community in Wonju.
