The sixth episode of season 8 of Summer House was exclusively released on Bravo on Thursday, March 28. Titled “Start Your Engines,”the latest installment included discussions about Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s recurring “Friday Night Fights”pattern. Another topic of conversation was the one-on-one chat between Kyle Cooke and Lindsay during their “Christmas in July”outing at the bar.
Viewers are aware that Lindsay and Carl are no longer together, however, during the filming of season 8, they were engaged. In the latest episode of Summer House, Kyle discussed with Lindsay how Carl’s eagerness to get married caused him to overlook the underlying issues in their relationship.
The revelation was a shock to Lindsay, who asserted that she did not feel comfortable showing any emotion around Carl besides happiness. She defended herself by placing the blame on Carl for constantly questioning and judging her decisions, which she believed ultimately led to the demise of their relationship.
Lindsay from Summer House addresses her tumultuous relationship with Carl
According to Lindsay Hubbard, it was Carl who was responsible for their frequent fights. She stated that she had to constantly be on guard around him as he struggled to handle any emotions other than happiness. Additionally, she found his disapproval of her drinking habit to be a source of difficulty. The Summer House star commented:
“If I have one sip of alcohol and I have an emotion other than happy, it’s a problem. If I’m happy he’s totally fine. If I have something else in me, that’s not so Stepford Wife, he literally cannot handle it. He’s constantly being, like, ‘How many drinks have you had?’”
Lindsay stated that even if Carl continued to criticize her decisions, she would not hesitate to point out his errors. She also added:
“You wanna f**king yell at me for drinking when I’m not the one who has a problem? Then I’m going to start picking apart what you’re doing.”
Lindsay Hubbard talks about Carl’s expectations for her transformation
During the most recent episode, Lindsday was seen engaging in an open discussion with other women about her challenges in her relationship. The reality star expressed her belief that Carl had expected her to change after they started dating. She confided in her Summer House co-stars, saying:
“I’ve never been in a situation where I’ve had a s*x problem or dated a sober guy. I honestly think he thought we were going to get into a relationship, and I was going to change.”
During the episode, it was clear that Amanda Batula, Kyle Cooke’s wife and Carl Radke’s best friend, did not share the same opinion as Lindsay. Despite this, she chose not to express her reservations at the time. However, in a confessional, Amanda later revealed:
“I don’t think Carl was like, ‘She’s going to change for me.’ I think Carl thought because we’re madly in love and going to get married she would have a little more respect for him. Or treat him differently than she does everyone else.”
During their conversation, Lindsay also mentioned feeling uncertain in her relationship, describing them as “miniature flags”that weren’t significant enough for her to reconsider marrying Carl.
The events leading to the end of Lindsay and Carl’s engagement continue to be documented in Season 8. Viewers have witnessed Lindsay expressing her concerns about Carl’s sobriety and discussing issues regarding their physical intimacy with her friends.
The seventh episode of Summer House season 8 is set to premiere on Thursday, April 4, on Bravo.
