Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Support Ceases January 2025; Offline Mode Released and Deathstroke Available Now

Rocksteady has officially announced that support for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will conclude in January 2025, coinciding with the release of Episode 8 for Season 4. This decision isn’t particularly surprising considering the game’s disappointing commercial performance, which notably contributed to a 41% drop in revenue for publisher Warner Bros. Games during Q2 of 2024.

Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showcases elements reminiscent of Rocksteady’s signature style—featuring impressive visuals, seamless traversal, and engaging combat—its overall execution falls short. Players experience a repetitive mission structure, a lack of substantive live service components, and a narrative that feels excessively dark and uninviting. Moreover, the core promise of engaging with the Justice League proves to be underwhelming and lacks the thrill fans anticipated. For those intrigued by the possibility of exploring the Arkhamverse’s direction, it may be wise to wait for significant discounts before investing in this unfulfilling collaborative adventure.

Speaking of discounts, substantial reductions have recently become available. During the recently concluded Steam Autumn Sale, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was offered at a staggering 95% off. Although it has since returned to full price, gamers can expect similar substantial price drops during the upcoming Holiday Sale, which is set to begin in the next couple of weeks.

Throughout the past year, Rocksteady has made subtle improvements to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, adhering to their planned four post-launch seasons. These updates introduced new playable characters such as the Joker and Mrs. Freeze, culminating in the latest addition of Deathstroke. The current update showcases Deathstroke’s combat style, centered around close-range melee attacks enhanced by his sword, while also allowing the use of various firearms including Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and Sniper Rifles.

Deathstroke Update

This latest seasonal update also unveils a new medieval-themed Elseworld setting inspired by DC’s comic series, Dark Knights of Steel. Additionally, it introduces the long-awaited Offline Mode, granting players the ability to engage with all previously released content without requiring an Internet connection. However, online features, including co-op gameplay, will continue to be accessible for those who prefer multiplayer interactions.

Looking ahead, it is essential to acknowledge that Rocksteady recently faced layoffs. Current chatter suggests that the studio may be developing a Director’s Cut for Hogwarts Legacy, after which they might revisit the beloved Batman: Arkham franchise—a project that, if confirmed, will likely take several years to manifest.
