Subway Escape Puzzle Guide for The Talos Principle: Reawakened

The Talos Principle: Reawakened delivers an impressive remastered experience, not only enhancing the original game’s graphical fidelity but also expanding upon its content. This new version goes beyond a simple upgrade; it introduces a notable expansion titled In the Beginning, featuring 18 challenging new puzzles, 16 of which were developed collaboratively with the Talos Principle community.

This extensive collaboration results in some of the toughest puzzles the series has to offer. While they are not insurmountable, they are designed to challenge even the most seasoned players. As an example, if you find yourself stuck on the Subway Escape puzzle, remember: leveraging redundancies is a key strategy that could help you progress.

Guide to Completing the Subway Escape Puzzle in The Talos Principle: Reawakened

As you enter the Subway Escape puzzle area, you might feel a bit lost at first. The center features a subway cart behind a fence, accompanied by two shields on one side. Additionally, turrets line the walls preventing direct advance across the tracks. Fortunately, these components are not crucial to solving the puzzle. Start your journey by stepping through the purple force field on the left and collecting the jammer.

Acquire the jammer and navigate around the corner to the shield obstructing access to the elevator. Use the jammer on this shield.

Return back and retrieve the connector you passed earlier, then take the elevator down while holding the connector.

Upon reaching the lower floor, you will notice another jammer (J2) keeping a shield deactivated. Enter the room, grab J2, and deactivate the shield to your right. Then, connect the red laser generator to the red node, establishing a redundancy alongside J2 and the red laser to keep the shield inactive.

Carry J2 to the other side of the shield, maintaining its effect while you collect the connector and bring it to the corner of the room.

Use J2 to deactivate the shield blocking your access to the fan, pressure switch, and the hexahedron concealed behind it. Place the hexahedron on the pressure switch, seize the connector, and utilize the fan to ascend to the second level. From there, position the connector to connect to the blue node and the blue laser generator on the bottom floor, creating another redundancy with the shield J2 is neutralizing, as well as the blue laser.

Return to the bottom level and collect J2. Ascend with J2 back to the second level, placing it beside the connector.

Grab the connector and descend to the bottom floor again to place it on the pressure switch activating the fan, while carrying the hexahedron upwards.

Note that we’ve avoided using the second hexahedron atop the purple force field until now; however, grab both hexahedrons and position them beside J2.

This part may seem straightforward but requires careful execution. Using the hexahedrons, ‘walk’ across the purple field. Falling will necessitate a reset, so proceed with caution and maintain balance as you traverse the force field while holding J2.

Place the two hexahedrons onto their respective pressure switches to disable the shield blocking your way.

With J2, walk through the now deactivated shield to jump down to the bottom floor and ride the elevator back up.

Take both J2 and J1 back to the purple force field, using them to deactivate the double shields obstructing the path to the subway cart and the tetromino.

Finally, approach the tetromino located inside the subway cart to successfully complete the puzzle.

Completing the Subway Escape puzzle will set you on a path through a corridor of turrets, leading you to one of the most challenging puzzles found in The Talos Principle: Reawakened.
