Stray Kids’ Hyunjin donates 100 million Korean won to support people with hearing impairment

On his 24th birthday, Hyunjin of Stray Kids generously donated 100 million Korean won to Snail of Love, a charity that provides assistance to those with hearing impairments.

According to Dispatch, this generous gesture has earned him a spot in the prestigious Snail of Love Soul Leader club, a group of prominent contributors who have collectively donated over 99 million Korean won to the organization.

Hyunjin conveyed his ideas through his management company, JYP Entertainment.

“As an artist who shares joy through music, I participated because I wanted to help in a small way in finding a voice. Although it is a small sharing, I want to share the precious love I received from my fans and enjoy the joy of music together”, he said.

Allocation of Stray Kids’ Hyunjin’s 100 million Korean won donation

The recent philanthropic act of Stray Kids’ Hyunjin has caught the attention of many netizens, as he has made headlines for his generous contribution. The K-pop idol donated funds to Snail of Love, a social service organization that assists the deaf community by offering artificial cochlear surgery and hearing aids. In addition, the organization provides support for social adaptation and works to raise public awareness about hearing impairments. They also offer educational opportunities for deaf children.

The S-Class singer’s contribution is expected to fund initiatives such as speech rehabilitation therapy for individuals with hearing impairments and the replacement of existing artificial cochlear devices with updated models.

This is not the singer’s initial instance of attracting attention for a significant donation. In 2023, Hyunjin, alongside his groupmate Changbin, contributed 100 million Korean won to The Promise, an international non-profit organization.

His contributions were put towards emergency relief initiatives that offered essential supplies and initial medical care to vulnerable populations affected by disasters in Turkey and Syria. As a result of their significant donations, Hyunjin and Changbin were invited to join the Honors Club as distinguished benefactors.

The Stray Kids member had previously gone live to commemorate his 24th birthday with his fans. The live stream revolved around a floral and cinnamon roll theme, and he engaged in entertaining activities and answered fan questions.

The LALALALA singer engaged in a balance game to select his signature appearance with the assistance of his fans. The resulting video was then shared on the group’s official YouTube channel, Stray Kids, on March 20.
