Strawweight kickboxing champ Jonathan Di Bella eyes the heights legendary names Giorgio Petrosyan, Superbon have reached

Despite already being recognized as one of the top strikers of his time, Jonathan Di Bella is determined to continue improving and surpassing expectations, never settling for just being a generational talent.

The current ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion aspires to climb to the top echelons of kickboxing and establish themselves as one of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport.

During an interview with the South China Morning Post, Di Bella expressed his ultimate career goal of being recognized alongside the legends of ONE Championship, many of whom have also worn the gloves.

The Italian-Canadian star specifically mentioned Giorgio Petrosyan, Superbon Superbon Training Camp, and Chingiz Allazov as the three fighters he aspires to be on par with.

According to Jonathan Di Bella:

“I just want to be one of the best kickboxers [ever]. Like Giorgio Petrosyan did, and now like what Superbon is doing. I just want to be like Chingiz Allazov. Be like one of the best kickboxers on the planet right now.”

Petrosyan, widely regarded as the greatest kickboxer in history, has achieved multiple kickboxing world championship titles and was crowned the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix champion in 2019.

At the time, Superbon was a former ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion and was widely considered the top pound-for-pound kickboxer in the world. However, Allazov has since claimed both the world title and the coveted distinction.

Despite the ground Di Bella has to cover in order to achieve greater success, he already possesses a strong foundation in the sport.

The current strawweight kickboxing champion boasts a flawless record of 12-0, with 2 wins in ONE Championship, and is currently at the peak of his athletic ability.

At the upcoming ONE Friday Fights 58, 27-year-old Di Bella will have the opportunity to continue his undefeated streak as he defends his gold against ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai in the co-main event.

Jonathan Di Bella Seeks to Solidify His Standing with Victory over Prajanchai

Jonathan Di Bella’s aspirations to become a legendary figure in his sport could receive a significant boost if he emerges victorious in his upcoming competition.

Di Bella sees Prajanchai as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of this time, and believes that a victory against the reigning strawweight Muay Thai champion this Friday would greatly enhance his reputation.

In the same interview, Di Bella stated:

“It would mean a lot to me. It would show that I’m for real and I’m next level. Hopefully one day, [this win] will solidify me as one of the best kickboxers on the planet.”
