Locating Nowaki the Ambusher

You can encounter Nowaki in the Hidden Swamp, a location you’ll navigate to during the latter stages of her quest arc. The journey begins with the “Hunting the Hunter”quest, which you can undertake after deciding to confront Kimura Yukari by eliminating her closest allies.

To lure Nowaki out of her lair, first, retrieve an item from her dilapidated residence. This will trigger a chain reaction that leads you to track her voice. Utilize the L2 (Left Trigger) button to attune your camera movements to the direction of her sound, which will create noticeable ripples on your screen’s edges. As you approach her, those ripples will intensify, guiding you to her location. Mastering this mechanic is vital for success in the subsequent battle.

The battle with Nowaki unfolds in a dimly lit swamp fraught with traps and illusions. As you fight, be aware of her ability to create clones that mirror her appearance, making it crucial to distinguish the real enemy. The traps scattered throughout the area can also serve you; utilize them to force her into revealing her position.

Initially, follow the sound of Nowaki’s voice to pinpoint her location. Once you find a safe spot, activate one of the traps to draw her out. Observe where she fires from, and close in carefully to avoid triggering additional traps. Launch your attacks only when confident you’ve identified the true Nowaki, as striking a clone will result in significant damage to you and allow her to reposition.
