Stolen Shipment of Nintendo Switch 2 Consoles Valued at $1.4 Million
In a brazen act of theft, a significant shipment of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles was intercepted en route from Nintendo’s headquarters in Washington to a GameStop location in Texas. The culprits made off with approximately 2, 810 consoles, totaling an estimated $1.4 million in value.
The alarming incident unfolded while the transport truck was parked in Bennett, Colorado. According to a report from ABC Denver 7, the truck driver discovered the break-in during a pre-drive inspection, only to find the vehicle had been compromised.
Details surrounding the exact timing of the theft remain unclear; however, it is known that the truck was stationed at Love’s Truck Stop when the driver made the shocking discovery. Interestingly, the driver was reportedly unaware of the truck’s specific cargo, indicating a potential lack of transparency in the transportation process.

The investigation into this theft is actively underway. Meanwhile, nearly 3, 000 stolen Nintendo Switch 2 consoles remain unaccounted for, potentially impacting Nintendo’s sales figures unless they are retrieved. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them at 720-874-8477.
Record Sales Despite Theft
Remarkably, in the first four days following its launch, the Nintendo Switch 2 achieved unprecedented success, moving 3.5 million units worldwide. Particularly in the U. S., 1.1 million units were sold during that initial week, which reflects a remarkable acceleration in demand—selling at twice the pace of the original Switch during its debut.
This surge in popularity suggests that, despite the unfortunate loss of nearly 3, 000 consoles, the Nintendo Switch 2 is on track to potentially reach sales figures exceeding 16 million units in 2025. This incident undoubtedly delays eager gamers in Texas, who were anticipating these consoles’ arrival.
As Nintendo fans await restocking, one can only hope that future shipments remain secure and safe from similar nefarious activities.
