Steins;Gate Gets a Bunny Girl Makeover
The Art You Never Knew You Needed

As Steins;Gate approaches its 15-year milestone, it can be challenging to inject creativity into merchandise that fans may already possess. With classic items like figurines, keychains, badges, and apparel saturating the market, innovation is essential to rekindle fan interest and encourage spending. The playful bunny girl makeover serves as a captivating twist, sparking excitement among long-time enthusiasts and offering fresh visuals.
The lead female characters—Kurisu Makise, Mayuri Shiina, Akiha Rumiho, and Suzuha Amane—are adorned in stylish bunny costumes, embodying a vibrant “Las Vegas”party theme. They are depicted holding playful props like card decks and drinks, contributing to the festive atmosphere.
The press release provides an official description of the lottery:
This will be the first lottery for Steins;Gate in 1 year and 6 months. The theme of the original illustrations is the four heroines (Kurisu Makise, Mayuri Shiina, Akiha Rumiho, and Suzuha Amane) who appear in Steins;Gate, which is currently celebrating its 15th anniversary, in bunny girl style escorting everyone at the party.
Titled “Steins;Gate 15th Anniversary Party, ”this initiative is organized by MAGIC KUJI ONLINE. Participants can enter the lottery by purchasing tickets for 990 yen ($6.65 USD) each. The lottery guarantees a prize for every ticket, but some items will be rarer than others, and all merchandise will be exclusively available through this lottery.
The merchandise lineup features lavish wall scrolls, acrylic standees, chibi-style keychains, metal pins, and more—all highlighting the characters in their playful new attire. Interestingly, some smaller standees include the heroines dressed in elegant formal outfits alongside other popular characters from the series. International fans eager for this release may have to wait, as the items will be available exclusively in Japan starting February 26th.
Is Steins;Gate Really 15 Years Old?
Anime Anniversaries are Weird

It may seem unusual that Steins;Gate is celebrating its 15th anniversary when it first aired in 2011, which would technically indicate it has only been 14 years. However, this advanced celebration is a common strategy in the anime industry, particularly for flagship titles. It allows creators to maximize promotional opportunities and organize events leading up to significant anniversaries.
In the case of Steins;Gate, designating 2025 as its 15th anniversary is technically reasonable, given that the story is set in 2010. This timing aligns the series’ fictional events with the upcoming anniversary, making now the perfect moment for festivities. Fans can anticipate even more surprises and events as the actual broadcast anniversary approaches in 2026, promising an exciting year ahead for the Steins;Gate community.
