In an exciting announcement, Seed Sparkle Lab, a noteworthy Chinese game developer, has confirmed the launch of its inaugural title, Starsand Island. This anime-inspired life and farming simulation will be available on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview starting Wednesday, February 11.

A Living World with Seasonal Dynamics
The Early Access version introduces a dynamic seasonal system, transforming the island’s landscape, ambiance, and available activities with each season’s progression, creating an immersive, living world.
Professions and Gameplay Enhancements
The game has significantly expanded the core professions from novice levels to intricate expert tiers. Farming now supports nearly 100 different crop varieties, complemented by a hybridization system that allows players to create unique flowers. Additionally, players can utilize late-game greenhouses for year-round cultivation of rare plants. Crafting has been enhanced with special machines and advanced tools, automating tasks such as mining, logging, and farming, enabling players to focus on creativity and exploration.
The ranching system sees the introduction of over 10 new species including cows and alpacas, alongside 40+ subspecies and color variations, coupled with realistic tools and facilities for livestock management. For fishing enthusiasts, a new Fish Trap system has been implemented, alongside over 100 aquatic creatures, including rare “King Fish”like Arapaima and Long-barbeled Dragonfish. Combat and exploration dynamics are enhanced with the addition of bows and a variety of elemental arrows.
NPC Interactions and Housing Customization
The game now features a roster of 15 interactable NPCs, including four new companions, each with distinct personalities reflecting their professions. These characters are voice-acted, and deepening relationships unlock exclusive, fully-voiced storylines.
Players can take advantage of nine homestead subplots available across three distinct environments—Blue Beach, Cloudrest Lake (a tranquil bamboo forest), and Windflute Island (a secluded paradisiacal escape).With over 300 furniture pieces and numerous decorative items already in place, players can create personalized havens. Travel options are robust, featuring over 40 rideable mounts and vehicles, including a variety of craftable land, water, and air travel options.
Character Customization and Culinary Features
Character customization is a significant focus, with fully modular outfits allowing players to mix and match hats, hairstyles, and accessories. An infinite color wheel empowers players to personalize not just their outfits but also hair, eyes, and skin tones. Cooking further enriches the lifestyle features, offering over 50 recipes that provide essential gameplay buffs.
The game world will also expand with the Moonlit Forest expansion, adding 12 new camps and 3 epic bosses with unique challenges for players to conquer.
Future Development and Release Plans
Looking ahead, Starsand Island is set to officially debut its version 1.0 in Summer 2026. This release will bring additional content and make the game available on macOS, PlayStation 5, and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
