Starfield Update Released Alongside New Paid Creation Mod by Esteemed Modding Team

Starfield May Update and New Creation Mod Released

Bethesda Game Studios has officially rolled out the much-anticipated May update for Starfield, following a successful testing period within the Steam Beta ring. This patch, while modest in size, introduces a set of noteworthy changes aimed at enhancing user experience. Notably, it includes a new Very Low graphic setting, designed to improve compatibility for players using lower-end PC systems. Additionally, the update raises the size limit for official Creation mods to 2GB and adds support for new icons.

New Mod Release: Watchtower

In conjunction with the update, the well-known modding team Kinggath Creations has launched a captivating paid Creation mod named Watchtower. This team gained popularity through its acclaimed Sim Settlements series for Fallout 4 and has since become part of the Bethesda Verified Creator Program. They have previously introduced substantial mods for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, including Bards College Expansion and East Empire Expansion, along with smaller mods for Starfield, such as McClarence Outfitters and At Hell’s Gate.

The Watchtower mod offers a much deeper gameplay experience. Players will find themselves embroiled in a new narrative where they face danger from an intriguing new faction. Fortunately, they won’t be entirely alone; they will encounter a fellow adventurer who shares a similar predicament and offers assistance.

Gameplay Features

Throughout the Watchtower experience, players have the opportunity to construct a formidable fleet that can engage in space combat alongside them. Furthermore, the mod introduces powerful new ship modifications called Skydrops, enabling fleets to launch support drops or conduct orbital strikes to aid in ground missions. Dismantling the Watchtower network will require players to strategically take down listening posts and spy satellite arrays.

New equipment is also up for grabs, including Cyberamps, which can enhance both player and crew piloting skills — a crucial addition for any aspiring spacefarer. The mod is available for $10, and players who purchased the Premium Edition will find that the 1000 Creation Credits included are precisely what is needed to unlock this exciting new content.

Rumors of Console Release

In other developments, speculation has surfaced regarding a potential announcement of Starfield for the PlayStation 5 later this year. While details remain sparse, there is curiosity about whether this release might coincide with another significant expansion for the game. It’s worth noting that about a year ago, Todd Howard from Bethesda hinted at plans for annual expansions for the sci-fi RPG, though these intentions were expressed prior to the mixed reception of the Shattered Space expansion.
