Starfield Animated Trailer Reveals Event Leading to Shattered Space Expansion

Prior to the highly anticipated launch of Starfield, Bethesda initiated a captivating series of animated specials set in the expansive RPG’s most prominent cities. These trailers highlighted the personal stories of residents within the sci-fi universe, aiming to provide an intimate glimpse into the lives and cultures of these unique locations. Now, more than a year following the initial release of the game, a brand-new trailer from the same series has been unveiled.

The latest episode of the Starfield Animated Anthology, titled All Must Serve, is featured above. This two-minute animation reveals a secret ceremony occurring on the homeworld of the Va’ruun civilization:

“In the latest installment of the Starfield Animated Anthology, witness the catastrophic events that set the stage for Starfield’s next significant story update, Shattered Space. In All Must Serve, we follow a young Va’ruun child during a ceremony at the Scaled Citadel. When a disaster devastates a large portion of the Va’ruun capital, the inhabitants of House Va’ruun must grapple with the aftermath.”

The inexplicable energy explosion depicted in the trailer is the central mystery players will investigate during the upcoming expansion. Bethesda’s gameplay trailer for the expansion, released last week, echoed this theme. The fabric of spacetime has reportedly been fractured by a purported “Grav-Drive” experiment, which resulted in the destruction of significant parts of the Dazra capital, claiming numerous lives and top city officials.

This expansion is being promoted as a meticulously crafted experience, with Bethesda revealing that the Va’ruun’kai planet will serve as the backdrop for all new questlines.

“House Va’ruun is shrouded in mystery, and their significant self-isolation renders them the ideal faction for a completely self-contained narrative,”the studio explained regarding this undertaking. “From the moment you arrive on Va’ruun’kai, the story exclusively unfolds on the Va’ruun homeworld. While you are free to leave at any time, the entire narrative revolves around life on this planet.”

Starfield: Shattered Space expansion is set to launch on September 30 for both PC and XBOX Series X|S consoles at a price of $29.99. Players who possess the game’s Premium and Constellation Editions will receive it at no additional cost.
