Stardock Reveals Customization Options for Windows 11 24H2 Using Start11 v2 and Fences 5
Yesterday, Microsoft officially launched Windows 11 version 24H2 for all users. In conjunction with this release, the company also unveiled features of Windows 11 LTSC 2024 and detailed the upgrade and compatibility aspects of this update, specifically for enterprise and office PCs.
In response, Stardock has announced full support for Windows 11 24H2 in its well-known customization applications, including Start11 v2, Fences 5, and Groupy 2. The company emphasized its commitment to this initiative by releasing multiple updates recently to ensure day-one compatibility when the 2024 feature update for Windows 11 rolled out. This optimization began as early as April 2024, when it was discovered that 24H2-based Insider previews disrupted these customization applications.
Stardock states:
“For the past few months, we have been diligently evaluating our applications such as Start11 v2 and Fences 5 to ensure they function perfectly with these changes. You may have noticed an increase in our update releases recently; while not all were directly related to 24H2, they are part of our effort to ensure that your applications are prepared when the new Windows release is installed on your device.”

On the other hand, Fences is a desktop organization tool for Windows that aids users in managing their desktop icons and shortcuts by categorizing them into customizable, resizable shaded areas known as “fences.” These fences can automatically sort and organize desktop items according to user preferences, contributing to a more organized desktop and enhanced productivity.
Fences 5 introduced several new features, including Chameleon, an improved version of Peek, along with enhanced multi-monitor support.
Moreover, Group 2 has also received support for Windows 11 24H2. Groupy enables users to conveniently group Windows applications together, much like tab grouping in web browsers.
