This update includes numerous bug fixes along with exciting new features, much to the delight of fans. Moreover, players can anticipate the upcoming release of a physical deluxe edition of the game for the Nintendo Switch.
Despite busy preparation for his upcoming title, Haunted Chocolatier, Barone remains committed to updating and supporting Stardew Valley. In fact, he has expressed confidence that new updates may continue for up to 50 years, underscoring his dedication to the franchise. As part of this ongoing support, ConcernedApe has collaborated with Fangamer to launch a deluxe edition for the Switch, showcasing one of the biggest updates—version 1.6.15.1—this week.
Launched on February 26, the 1.6.15.1 update celebrates the ninth birthday of Stardew Valley. Patch notes revealing the details of this update were shared by Barone on his official Twitter account. Key enhancements include performance improvements tailored specifically for the Nintendo Switch version, with the addition of a handy Junimo bundle button for use in fridges and mini-fridges. Players will also benefit from increased roe production from legendary fish ponds, which now boast higher average daily values. Another significant adjustment allows players to retain fish if they pass out while fishing or while holding a catch. Furthermore, ConcernedApe has introduced additional spouse reactions for players to enjoy when interacting outside of standard dialogue and teased the inclusion of new Easter eggs for enthusiastic explorers.

The updates also include enhancements to translations in French, Russian, Hungarian, and Japanese, ensuring an improved gaming experience for players who speak these languages. Additionally, the update addressed several specific issues affecting the Switch version, including a glitch that occasionally disabled rumble features for Joy-Con and Pro Controllers. Players can look forward to a more stable and enjoyable experience thanks to the resolution of rare crashing incidents with update 1.6.15.1.
Players on Xbox and PlayStation were not left out, as they received the same update on February 12, bringing them up to speed with the current PC version. Looking ahead to 2025, more updates for Stardew Valley are anticipated, although a release date for Haunted Chocolatier is not expected this year. However, fans may receive smaller updates and announcements regarding that title, while active content updates for Stardew Valley keep the player base engaged.
