Major Updates on Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws has captivated gamers since its launch three months ago. In response to community feedback, developer Massive Entertainment is diligently implementing updates that include essential bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. However, an upcoming update is set to bring more substantial changes to enhance the overall gaming experience.

New Leadership to Drive Creative Vision

In a noteworthy transition, Drew Rechner has been appointed as the new creative director for the game. Rechner takes over from Julian Gerighty, who is now leading the development of The Division 3. In his inaugural statement, Rechner expressed enthusiasm for his new role and gratitude towards the community for their positive reception of the game.

“I’m very excited to be stepping into the role of Creative Director on Star Wars Outlaws and to be working with the incredibly passionate team here at Massive Entertainment along with our talented co-development studios around the world and Lucasfilm Games,”Rechner stated. “I would like to personally thank you, our community, for your positive response to the game.”

Focus Areas for the Upcoming Update

The upcoming update will intensively target three essential aspects of the open-world experience: combat, stealth, and controls.

  • Combat Enhancements: Rechner sees potential for increased depth in combat mechanics, aiming to reward players for strategic gameplay and precise actions.
  • Stealth Improvements: The update will offer expanded options for players approaching enemy encounters, alongside better “readability and consistency of enemy detection.”
  • Character Controls Upgrade: Improvements in climbing, crouching, and cover mechanics are aimed at delivering a more responsive and reliable gameplay experience.

Acknowledgment and Community Engagement

Concluding his message, Rechner expressed his gratitude to the community for their ongoing support and feedback:

“To our players, thank you again for your support and feedback, we hope you will enjoy continuing exploring the galaxy with us,”he said. “And if you’re new to the game, there’s never been a better time to experience the Outer Rim with Kay and Nix.”

Upcoming Launch and New Features

Title Update 1.4 is scheduled for release on November 21, coinciding with the launch of the Steam version of the game. This means players on the platform will have immediate access to all the exciting updates and enhancements upon its release.
