Originally serialized from 2016 to 2022 and encompassing 15 volumes, Vigilantes showcases the evolution of quirky storytelling in the MHA universe. Interestingly, the creators later partnered to produce the Spider-Man-inspired manga, Octo-Girl.
When is MHA: Vigilantes Set?
Vigilantes is crafted as a prequel to the main MHA storyline, unfolding five years prior to the events familiar to fans. The narrative shifts focus to Koichi Haimawari, an unlicensed Hero using his Quirk for the greater good despite operating outside the law.
The adventure begins when Koichi and fellow performer Kazuho Haneyama, nicknamed Pop Step, encounter danger, only to be rescued by the vigilante Knuckleduster who encourages them to join forces as vigilantes. Koichi adopts the code name The Crawler.
Are MHA Characters Part of Vigilantes?
Since Vigilantes serves as a prequel, it introduces some characters from the original My Hero Academia series; however, it does not center around primary figures like Deku or Bakugo. Instead, viewers can look forward to appearances from All Might in his prime, along with other notable Heroes such as Eraser Head and Midnight.
