Exciting Updates for Splatoon 3: Summer Nights Splatfest Returns

Nintendo recently confirmed that while regular content updates for Splatoon 3 will cease after September 2024, players can look forward to the return of popular events. The global relaunch of the Summer Nights Splatfest is set for July 11, 2025, at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. This event will feature the introduction of four distinct pieces of gear from Splatoon 2, enhancing the gameplay experience for participants.

Travel Theme Takes Center Stage

The theme for this year’s Summer Nights Splatfest revolves around the concept of travel, providing players with an engaging thematic experience. Participants can choose between three travel modes, which include:

Land: Travel by car
Sea: Travel by boat
Air: Travel by plane

Based on this categorization, it is likely that Shiver will represent the land category, Frye will take to the seas, while Big Man will soar through the skies.

Exclusive Gear Available During the Event

During the Splatfest, four popular headgear items from Splatoon 2 will make their debut in Splatoon 3. Players can acquire these items by accessing the Nintendo News feature on their console and following the provided link. The headgear items available include:

Eye of Justice
Fierce Fishskull
Hivemind Antenna
Jetflame Crest

Building on Past Events

This marks the second occasion where Splatoon 2 gear has been integrated into Splatoon 3 since the Spring Fest Splatfest, held in March 2025. During that event, players were able to claim a total of 12 exclusive items, further enhancing player customization and enjoyment.
