Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Ultimate Spider-Man #13
Marvel’s latest installment of the Ultimate Spider-Man series hints at the potential emergence of a radically new Venom, transcending just the introduction of a new host. In this reimagined Ultimate Universe, Peter Parker’s journey unfolds notably 20 years later than in the original timeline, thanks to the intervention of The Maker, who altered his past. Now, as he carries the mantle of Spider-Man while juggling the responsibilities of being a husband and father, Peter’s saga becomes increasingly complex. All the while, the narrative promises to heighten in intrigue with the involvement of his son, Richard.
In prior arcs, Peter was equipped with a cutting-edge picotech suit, enhanced with advanced AI from Iron Man, alongside the very spider that should have instigated his powers. Opting for a more traditional spandex costume out of concern over Stark’s surveillance abilities—given that Peter has yet to fully trust him—Peter has relied on the picotech suit to protect his family ever since he and Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin were taken hostage by Kraven the Hunter. But in Ultimate Spider-Man #13, we discover that Richard has been donning this very picotech suit, which has taken on an intriguing transformation:

While it may not stem from the iconic black alien goo, the resemblance between the evolved picotech suit and an embodiment of Peter’s psyche is striking. Teaming up with Richard, this new black-suited Spider-Man hints at a possible emergence of a fresh Venom within the Ultimate Universe.
Richard Parker and the Picotech Suit: Battling Crime in Spider-Man’s Absence
Is This the Beginning of Something Bigger?

The opening scenes of the issue suggest that Richard and the picotech suit are merely searching for Peter. However, as the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that the duo has taken on the role of crimefighters, with the suit actively urging Richard to step into the shoes of Spider-Man. Yet, one cannot help but wonder if the picotech suit has ulterior motives; its transformation into Peter’s likeness raises concerns about its intentions regarding the original Spider-Man.
On the optimistic side, this new alliance could bolster the fight alongside Spider-Man and the Green Goblin against Wilson Fisk and his Sinister Six. The issue culminates with Richard, now donning the new “Spider-Man” identity, encountering a revamped Black Cat, who seems to be carrying on her father’s legacy.Conversely, the narrative could take a darker turn, leading to the picotech suit going rogue, with Richard becoming a mere passenger in its unpredictable journey.
The Potential for an All-New Venom
Creates Buzz for a New Ultimate Venom in This Universe

In the original iteration of the Ultimate Universe, the Venom symbiote had terrestrial origins; it was not alien in nature. The biological suit was engineered by Peter Parker and Eddie Brock’s fathers as an attempt to combat disease. Unfortunately, the suit’s monstrous repercussions manifested when Peter wore it, leading to Eddie Brock’s transformation into Ultimate Venom.
Currently, this redefined Ultimate Universe seems poised to reinvent Venom’s origins, potentially crafting a “symbiote”out of exceptionally advanced technology and AI capable of independent thought and molecular bonding. The prospect of Spider-Man’s son assuming the role of its first true host adds an exciting twist.Though speculation regarding an Ultimate Venom lies on the horizon, Richard’s evolution with the picotech suit will surely be a captivating journey as the Ultimate Spider-Man saga unfolds.
