On October 24, GloRilla, the talented rapper and songwriter, took to her Instagram to showcase her baby bump in a couple of fashionable mirror selfies. In the images, she donned a chic white bodysuit paired with fuzzy slippers, complemented by a dazzling bejeweled wristwatch, a shiny silver necklace, and matching hoop earrings. Notably, the post was shared without any accompanying caption.
Up until this announcement, GloRilla had not disclosed any news regarding her pregnancy, and major news outlets had not reported anything either.
In the meantime, actor Corey Champagne took to the comments section on The Shade Room’s Instagram repost of GloRilla’s photos to clarify the situation.
“This is for a new film we’re both in called ‘Angel’s Promise,’ she’s a phenomenal actress,” Champagne commented.
It seems that GloRilla was teasing her appearance for an upcoming project, where she is likely to portray a pregnant character using a silicone-made baby bump. Regardless, her fans quickly took to social media, where her baby bump pictures quickly went viral, sparking a variety of reactions.
For instance, an X user, Rashad Your Chubby Friend (@OptimusGrind__), shared a 10-second video clip showing a man looking distressed on the floor, surrounded by crumpled tissues. He humorously captioned it:
“GloRilla just posted pictures of her pregnant on IG, somebody tell me this for Halloween.”
Many others chimed in on the platform, echoing similar thoughts, asserting that GloRilla’s recent baby bump photos were a clever Halloween ploy.
“A bit early for April Fools or is this a Halloween look?” one fan inquired.
“She’s playing with us for Halloween szn,” wrote a fan.
“Chill out, everyone. It’s her Halloween costume,” commented another user.
Further speculation arose, with many asserting that Big Glo wasn’t genuinely expecting and that this was merely a comical stunt.
“Now why did she buy that? She’s hilarious for this,” noted a user.
“*Cough* PUBLICITY STUNT,” another user wrote.
“Not me believing it for a second,” stated another commenter.
However, some fans chose to believe the rapper is indeed expecting and sent her heartfelt congratulations.
“OMG, Yaaas! Congratulations to GloRilla on her new addition!” wrote a fan.
“What a beautiful moment! She’s glowing and it’s wonderful to see her embracing this new chapter in life. Sending her all the love as she steps into motherhood,” another individual added.
GloRilla Discusses Future Motherhood Aspirations
Recently, GloRilla chatted with Charlamagne Tha God during an episode of the YouTube series “Out of Context,”which was released on October 14. At around the 8:15 mark in the 44-minute conversation, she opened up about her desire to become a mother but stated that she has no intention of bearing a child herself.
“I do want to have kids, but not my own kids. I want to explore surrogacy. I want my baby to carry my DNA, but I want someone else to have it,” the 25-year-old expressed.
She elaborated further:
“I simply don’t want to go through the experience of pregnancy. All my friends have kids, and they often feel restricted during their pregnancies. [Nine months] is a long time. I just can’t see myself doing that.”
This topic arose after Charlamagne Tha God questioned her about the lyrics in her collaboration with Latto titled “PROCEDURE,”where they rap, “B*tch, I’m big mama, but ain’t none of these n*ggas worth my womb. This n*gga tryna get me pregnant, I need to tie my tubes (On God).”
GloRilla confirmed to Charlamagne that the lyrics reflect her truth, revealing that men have attempted to “trap” her into pregnancy, but she has no desire to go through it herself.
For context, GloRilla recently released her debut album, “Glorious,”on October 11, with “PROCEDURE”as its third single. The album features collaborations with artists like Sexyy Red, Megan Thee Stallion, T-Pain, BossMan Dlow, Muni Long, Kirk Franklin, Fridayy, Kierra Sheard, Chandler Moore, and Maverick City Music, among others.
