Season 2 of Solo Leveling continues to enthrall fans with its stunning animation from A-1 Pictures. The Korean Manhwa has gained a massive following due to its remarkable action sequences and its overpowered protagonist, Sung Jinwoo. The anime adaptation has not only matched but, at times, exceeded the expectations of its predecessors.

In the inaugural season, viewers witnessed Jinwoo adapting to the system bestowed upon him by the Architect. While he emerged stronger than ever, he remained in the shadows, unnoticed by the series’ more formidable characters. However, the second season marks a significant shift in Jinwoo’s trajectory, as he begins to earn the recognition and respect of top-tier Hunters. In Episode 6, a few of these elite figures were fortunate enough to witness his might up close.

Despite being declared Korea’s tenth S-Rank Hunter after a re-evaluation test, Jinwoo remained under the radar awaiting his official recognition. To keep his inventory active for potential sales, he agreed to participate in raids of A-Rank Dungeons as a porter, following Son Kihoon’s request. This seemingly simple task became daunting as the High Orc Army emerged, causing the Hunters to experience a surge of dread; the Surveillance Team noted that this A-Rank Gate had become as perilous as an S-Rank Dungeon.

The sight of the imposing High Orc Army struck terror into the hearts of the Hunters, who understood the devastation they could unleash upon a human city. Kargalgan, the Dungeon Boss, instilled fear in all but Son Kihoon, leaving the majority of the raiding party paralyzed with dread. They resigned themselves to an inevitable demise, even feeling pity for Son Kihoon as Kargalgan toyed with him using his Gravitation Spell. In that critical moment, Sung Jinwoo revealed his true strength, determined that the raiding team would not perish under his watch.

“You’ll regret underestimating us, ” Jinwoo declared to Kargalgan.

While the A-Rank Hunters struggled against even a single High Orc soldier, they were left in awe as Jinwoo dispatched multiple foes with astonishing speed. They had seen summoning spells before, but never had they witnessed a Hunter commanding an entire army of Shadow Soldiers or resurrecting fallen enemies to strengthen his ranks. As Jinwoo faced off against the High Orc Army, the remaining Hunters could only watch in disbelief.

Ever intrigued by Jinwoo, Cha Hae-In decided to delve deeper into his capabilities after hearing of his venture as a porter in an A-Rank Gate. Upon entering the dungeon, she quickly sensed a formidable energy, causing concern for the raiding party. Her worries were soon alleviated as she entered the Boss room, witnessing Jinwoo’s effortless domination over both the High Orc Army and the powerful Boss.

Rather than struggling, Jinwoo seemed to relish the challenge, showcasing his newfound powers as he faced the menacing opponent. Although Cha Hae-In was equipped to battle, the realization that Jinwoo could manage on his own held her back from intervening.

“He must be a top-tier fighter. Additionally, he possesses summoning magic. So, this is the power of Hunter Sung…” – Cha Hae-In.

The Hunter Association’s Surveillance Team, trailing Jinwoo, arrived just in time to see his incredible display of power. Although they were aware of his potential, witnessing it firsthand was nothing short of astounding. Meeting the raiding party, they were shocked to behold Jinwoo humiliating Kargalgan with his abilities, seemingly enjoying the challenge as some of Korea’s most elite Hunters observed.

Kargalgan’s perception of humans as weak creatures blinded him to the possibility of a human strong enough to challenge him. However, upon confronting Jinwoo, he quickly recognized the truth: Jinwoo was, in fact, a Monarch. Despite Kargalgan’s best efforts, the disparity in their powers became undeniable. Ultimately, Jinwoo fulfilled his promise, incorporating Kargalgan into his Shadow Army. In his dying moments, Kargalgan lamented underestimating Jinwoo.

“It appears my title of the Ultimate Hunter has become a joke, ” mused Choi Jong-In.

While many have witnessed powerful Hunters or terrifying entities, none had seen a Korean Hunter clear an A-Rank Dungeon single-handedly. Jinwoo’s unique approach—an assassin-type Hunter using necromancy to command a vast army—was unprecedented. Even Choi Jong-In, one of Korea’s strongest Hunters, found it difficult to comprehend such power. In the end, he questioned whether he truly merited the moniker of “The Ultimate Hunter.”
