The Deadly Setup in the Dungeon

Jin-Woo vs Hwang Dong-Suk
  • Season 1, Episode 6

In a critical episode, Hwang Dongsuk’s group significantly underestimates Jin-Woo, seeing him as merely an expendable asset. Their schemes within the C-rank dungeon should have sealed Jin-Woo’s fate, but they unwittingly set the stage for their own demise. Dongsuk orchestrates a plan that invites Jin-Woo alongside another under-ranked hunter, Joon Jinho, under the false pretenses of support. Their true intention is to utilize these weaker hunters as pawns to easily sweep through the dungeon while pocketing the valuable essence stones for themselves.

As the party traverses the dungeon, they manage to defeat lesser creatures until they reach the boss’s lair, where the real treasure lies. In a deceptive turn of events, Dongsuk closes off the exit, plotting to sacrifice Jin-Woo and Jinho to the boss, believing they can escape with the essence stones while the two are devoured. However, after Jin-Woo triumphs over the spider boss, Dongsuk and his compatriots emerge to eliminate him, reasoning that he poses no threat as a low-ranked hunter. Unbeknownst to them, Jin-Woo’s leveling system perceives these hunters as obstacles. Cornered by their plot, Jin-Woo must now rise to the occasion and eliminate them, transforming into a ruthless force fueled by self-preservation.

Alongside Jin-Woo, fellow hunters, including Song Chi-Yul and healer Lee Joohee, are involved in this raid that swiftly devolves into a perilous scenario.

Taeshik’s sadistic nature emerges as he brutally executes prisoners, compelling Jin-Woo to step forward as the threat shifts from monsters to Taeshik’s psychopathy. It becomes apparent that Jin-Woo is far from the weakling Taeshik anticipated. In stark contrast to the anguish shown by the remaining hunters, Jin-Woo showcases remarkable growth in capabilities as he readies himself to confront the true monster of the dungeon.

As Jin-Woo activates his heightened abilities, he expertly counters Taeshik’s attempts to assassinate him. The swift and brutal skirmish is marked by Jin-Woo’s exceptional reflexes and strategic movements, culminating in a decisive victory as he delivers a lethal blow to Taeshik.

However, Kim Chul’s misguided strategy to fragment their team leads to disaster, as his group falls victim to the icy dangers while Jin-Woo’s team remains intact. Envious and furious, Kim Chul misguidedly blames Jin-Woo for the ill-fated circumstances, setting the scene for a lethal confrontation.

As Kim Chul recklessly seeks vengeance amid the chaos, he finds himself grievously miscalculating the inherent threat posed by Jin-Woo’s growing prowess.
