The inaugural season of Love is Blind Habibi, the Middle Eastern adaptation of the popular dating reality series, debuted on October 10. This exciting installment featured contestants from various Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, and Jordan.
Among the engaged pairs from the pods were Mido and Nour. Mido faced rejection from Asma, while Nour was turned down by Chafic. Their shared experiences of heartbreak helped them connect while navigating the emotional landscape of the show.
Unfortunately, the romance between Mido and Nour was short-lived, culminating in a split during their getaway at a luxurious resort in Dubai. Mido confided in friends that he felt uncomfortable with Nour’s focus on her appearance and believed she needed to re-enter the real world. This sentiment sparked various reactions among fans on X.
“Mido’s insecurity is apparent; he knows Nour is out of his league, and he’s trying to cast her in a negative light. Short man syndrome is truly a thing!”one viewer remarked.
Viewers speculated that Mido was projecting his insecurities onto Nour, suggesting that his self-doubt led him to misinterpret her actions.
“Is Mido projecting his own insecurities onto Nour just because she’s attractive? I feel like she genuinely wants to connect with him, but his lack of confidence is clouding his ability to see that,”another user commented.
“Mido clearly knows what he’s doing and called Nour out. I admire Mido for taking the initiative to leave,”added a different viewer.
“Mido is seriously insecure since Nour is undeniably stunning, and he’s sabotaging his chances by portraying her as the villain. She was actually giving him a shot, yet he went off to have breakfast alone and left without listening to her…”another fan expressed.
Many fans criticized Mido for walking away without communicating effectively with Nour or allowing her a chance to share her perspective.
“Mido is acting like a coward; he just fled after claiming he met a blonde Egyptian girl. No one is paying attention to him,”one user posted.
“Mido… seriously? Just communicate! Even if you feel nothing for her, at least let her express herself,”another user added.
There were also reactions to Nour’s demeanor during this tumultuous episode.
“After Mido left, Nour simply picked up a book instead of going home — prioritizing screen time over heartbreak,”one commenter noted.
“Many viewers have misinterpreted Nour. I aspire to have her level of self-esteem and composure. She refused to let Mido’s abrupt departure ruin her day and had shown little interest in Chafic. It was his insecurities that he projected onto her,”another posted.
Mido and Nour’s Split in Episode 5 of Love is Blind Habibi
In episode 5, Mido approached Nour to address their relationship dynamics, concerned about her seeming aloofness and her demand for constant attention without reciprocation. When they finally sat down together, Nour brought up the previous night’s conflict involving Chafic and Simo.
This led Mido to suggest that she had lingering feelings for Chafic, citing her laughter and playful interactions with him that were absent in their relationship. He also mentioned that she had given Chafic a gift in the pods, while he had received nothing from her.
Ultimately, Mido stated that they were fundamentally different people and decided it was best to part ways. While Nour tried to communicate her thoughts, Mido left before she could express herself fully, leaving her frustrated and calling him immature for his hasty departure.
Later, when Mido was with the guys, he explained that he was leaving the resort because Nour spent too much time in her room perfecting her hair and makeup. He felt she was out of touch with reality.
Meanwhile, Nour, in a conversation with her friends, shared that she was ready to move on and didn’t need to waste time with someone who wasn’t willing to invest in getting to know her.
