Skip Bayless worried Stefon Diggs’ Texans will overshadow Jerry Jones’ Cowboys after major trade
The Houston Texans have been actively making moves during the off-season, including their recent acquisition of wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday. This is just one of the many impactful additions the Texans have made to their roster.
The team has made some notable additions to their offense, including Diggs and Joe Mixon. On the defensive side, they have secured the talents of star defensive end Danielle Hunter and defensive tackle Foley Fatusaki. They have also chosen to keep tight end Dalton Schultz, wide receiver Noah Brown, and cornerback Desmond King on their roster.
Despite being led by a rookie quarterback (C.J. Stroud) and a first-year head coach (DeMeco Ryans), the Texans finished last season with a record of 10-7. As a result, Skip Bayless has declared them the superior Texas professional football team.
Despite his critical and passionate nature towards the Dallas Cowboys, Bayless recently acknowledged Houston as the top football team in the state of Texas.
“The Texans as we speak right now as is are better, I’ll just say they’re a little better than the Dallas Cowboys,”Bayless said. “We lost a very good center to Washington. We lost a pretty good RB in Tony Pollard and I don’t see how we’re going to replace him unless we draft somebody.”
“We lost a linebacker who did make a Pro Bowl and Stephon Gilmore is still sitting out there unsigned, and I don’t know if Jerry is waiting there, he talked about it but we never heard the end of it,”Bayless added.
“When I look at the Texans receiver room, it is spilling over with receivers that we don’t have. So the depth that receiver room is way advantageous to Texans.”
Will the Houston Texans be able to defend their AFC South division title after acquiring Stefon Diggs?
The trade involving Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans was a significant event.
The Buffalo Bills suffered a loss of a key player this season, while the Texans made a valuable addition to their roster.
After acquiring Stefon Diggs, Houston’s odds of winning the AFC South have increased, solidifying their position as the favorite. The team is now listed at +115 odds to come out on top in the division.
The odds and projections may not hold any significance, but they do provide a general understanding of what to anticipate.
During the offseason, the Tennessee Titans acquired several crucial players, including Tony Pollard, Calvin Ridley, and L’Jarius Snead. As they head into the new season, they will have second-year quarterback Will Levis leading the team.
Despite both the Jaguars and Colts finishing with a 9-8 record last season, their paths to that record were quite different. While the Jaguars had previously won the division and were dominant in the first half of the 2023 season, the Colts surprised many with their success behind backup QB Garner Minshew.
