If you’ve been exploring the latest version of Skate, you may have noticed a variety of bugs that can affect your gaming experience—some amusing, while others can be quite frustrating.
On the brighter side, players can use a clapping emote to halt their free-fall, adding an element of humor to the game’s quirks. However, it’s the glitches that hinder your quest progress that can really dampen the experience, even when you are meeting all the requirements successfully.
One notably tricky quest currently plagued by bugs is the Bench Sesh challenge in the Market Mile series. The objectives include achieving a high score, covering a specific grind distance, and executing a set number of Hippy Jumps. Unfortunately, the Hippy Jumps aren’t functioning as intended at this time.
Fear not, though! There is a reliable method to complete this quest successfully if you perform your Hippy Jumps with the right technique. Here’s how to master it.
Mastering the Hippy Jump

First things first, let’s clarify how to perform a Hippy Jump. Begin by moving forward, then hold down both push buttons before releasing them. This action will enable your skater to jump up straight while the board glides beneath. With perfect timing, this allows you to clear various obstacles effectively.
For PlayStation users, initiate a Hippy Jump by holding X
and Square
, then release. For those on Xbox, press A
and B
before releasing. Mastering the timing of your jump is crucial for landing cleanly.
Successfully Completing Bench Sesh
Now, let’s delve into the Bench Sesh challenge specifically. While executing a three-trick sequence is quite straightforward, achieving the necessary grind distance within the given timeframe is also relatively easy. Scoring 7, 500 points is achievable for most players. However, the primary issue arises with the Hippy Jumps over benches, which often fail to register.
It’s puzzling because, in other challenges, the Hippy Jumps consistently register regardless of whether they’re executed with speed or an early leap. Regrettably, this isn’t the case for the Bench Sesh.
To successfully clear the benches, approach them at a measured pace—not too fast, but just quick enough to initiate the jump successfully. I discovered that transitioning from a stationary position on a nearby sloped platform gives just the right amount of momentum necessary to clear the obstacle without overshooting it.

By following these instructions closely, your jumps should be adequately timed and positioned to register with the game’s system, allowing you to complete the challenge efficiently. Good luck, and enjoy your skating!
